Term IX

Business Internship

Credit: 1

Business Internship at the end of 3rd Year (Term XI) of Five Year IPM programme is mandatory
for all the students. It is a 1 credit course. The duration of internship is 8 weeks (April to May
2022)

Internship Objective:

Business Internship will provide multidisciplinary exposure to various aspects of management


to the students. The key objective of the internship is that:
(a) It will help students apply business concepts and theories to real-world decision-making
(b) It will develop and improve business skills in communication, technology, quantitative
reasoning, and teamwork.
(C) It will provide opportunity to observe and participate in business operations and decision-
making.

Project Identification and Approval:

1. Student needs to reach out to any of the organization as described above. He/ she
shall identify the problem/ scope of project in the given organization.
2. Student will submit the proposal of their project that they will take with the
respective organization to the IPM office latest by March 10, 2022 which will include
the following:
(a) Organization Brief
(b) Problem Statement/ Scope of the project
(c) Contact Details of the reporting officer and head of the organization
(d) Acceptance letter from the respective organization
3. Proposal submitted by each student will be evaluated for the scope of work and
authentication of the project. The programme office will give the approval for the
proposed project to the respective student latest by March 20, 2022.

Project Duration:

Student will undergo their business internship for the duration of 8 weeks during
April – May 2022.

Project Report Submission and Evaluation:

1. On successful completion of the internship, student will submit the duly completed
project report to the IPM office along with the completion certificate issued to the
student by the respective organization.
2. The deadline for submission of the project report to the faculty mentor (to be allocated
after approval of the project) is 2nd June 2022.
3. The Project Report will be evaluated on the following parameters:

 Scope of the project,


 methodology
 knowledge and application of the project
 Intellectual ability
 Decision making skills
 Innovation and contribution.
