ENVI-met Student /PhD

1.0 Getting started
Thank you for purchasing a
ENVI-met Student / PhD License.

With your order, you receive a license key

StudentPhD.LICX

This key will upgrade your existing ENVI-met installation to the Student /PhD License that has
the same functionalities as the Science and Business License, but is limited to your personal
Research & Educational use and only computes on a single core.

The Student / PhD License includes BIO-met, which can be registered with its own key:

BIO-met.LICX

The ENVI-met Student / PhD key has a fixed license run-time. After the run-time has passed,
ENVI-met automatically falls back to the LITE Version. As the ENVI-met Student / PhD License
can only be obtained for one year per student, you will not be able to renew this license.
The key is for you personally and must not be forwarded to any other person!

It is only for your personal computers – do not install this on public computers.
Activate the license for your computer by carrying out the following steps.

1.0 How to register your Software
Open ENVI-met Headquarter
After a fresh installation, ENVI-met is workings a LITE Version.

Next, go to the System page and click on About / Register, where you can register your license
using the provided file StudentPhD.LICX:

Click Open License file and locate the (*.LICX) file you have received.

We recommend you store this file in a safe place. After the registration process, the original
*.LICX file will not be required to run ENVI-met.

Finally, click Register on machine to activate the license.

You will need to close & restart all ENVI-met applications to make sure all modules are updated!
If you receive an error message telling you that the file license.edb cannot be modified, you
probably installed ENVI-met into a folder, to which you do not have the full writing permissions.
This will lead to further problems when using ENVI-met.

Always install ENVI-met into a folder to which have full access rights. After restarting the
Headquarter, your license information should be updated.

1.2 Viewing your license details
To obtain details about your license, go to:

ENVI-met Headquarter -> System

Detailed information, including the license run time is shown here.

Note: Any changes in the registration information e.g. the name of the license holder will render
the key invalid and ENVI-met will fall back to running as the LITE version. For support on the
model activation, please contact us via email at license@envi-met.com

1.3 License management
After you bought an ENVI-met Student / PhD License, you will get a validation e-mail that
contains your personal User Key and the License File (*.LICX). Make sure to save them.
With your Student / PhD License you can register up to 2 machines. When trying to register the
3rd machine, the registration server will prompt:

Go to: http://www.envi-met.info/doku.php?id=apps:licmanaging and manage your registered

machines after entering your user key, which you can find in the validation email.
Please note that the user key is case sensitive.

Then select the licenses that you want to de-register and remove selected machines.

2.0 Upgrading BIO-met
With the Student / PhD License you will also receive a BIO-met license file.
In order to upgrade, open the BIO-met application and click About.

Click Enter / Change Registration in the following dialog and register ENVI-met
your BIO-met.LICX license file.
