HISTORY OF STA.

ROSA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Sta. Rosa Elementary School, formerly Sta. Rosa Primary School is located at
Barangay Sta. Rosa, Peñarrubia, Abra the farthest eastern barangay of the municipality of
Peñarrubia, Abra. It is bounded by the municipality of Bucay. It is accessible to any kind of
vehicle on dry and wet season. It is inhabited by the tribes of Illaud and Iloko. Due to
intermarriages, the place has established mix cultures wherein development of socio-
economic condition has been alleviated. The primary source of living and income of the
community is farming, livestock raising and vegetable gardening.
The school was established in the year 1948. At present time, it has three DepEd
buildings with 4 classrooms, a faculty room and a Learning Resource Center. It has a total
enrolment of 51 pupils for the school year 2021-2022. There are four nationally funded
teachers headed by Mrs. Maria Lorena B. Bisares, the Head Teacher II.
Thr school is currently implementing the K to 12 Curriculum and continues to cater
the needs of every learner anchored to the curriculum and the DepEd vision and mission, and
core values. The school has developed immersed linkages to the community as its partner in
the pursuit of equality education.
