Reflection Questions:

 What are the concerns of our teachers concerning Unpacking of MELC and integrating MELC in our
lessons?
 How can MELC enrich the teachers’ daily lessons?
 How can you help or assist them? Why is it essential that we all understand this process?

Reflection

The common concerns of the teachers are the know-how to unpack the MELCs and integrate
it in weekly lessons. The LDM2 LAC sessions are very beneficial for them to fully underdtand aand
how to do the said task. The technical assistance provided by the Master Teachers and Head
Teachers is very helpful in addressing the problems in connection with the challenges in unpacking
and integrating MELCs.
The MELCs enrich teachers daily lessons because it lessen their time and it focus on the
main competencies that the teacher need to give to their students for maximum learning and skills
development.
As a school head, I need to serve as facilitator, supporter and guide to my fellow teachers to
make sure that best quality support is provided despite of this pandemic crisis. It is very essential to
understand the process of supporting teachers as instructional leaders to make sure that the quality
education is given to the learners even in modular learning.

 What are the uses of these lists of learning interventions, learning tasks and assessment methods to
the teachers’ lesson?
 What are your tasks as their school’s instructional leader so they can develop better lesson design
and assessment?

Reflection

The list of interventions, leaarning tasks and assessment methods are important to teachers’
lessons to make sure that every learner will benefir and have fair access to education.
Interventions are important to assist the students that are lagging behind. Learning tasks and
assessment methods should be congruent to their Daily Lesson Logs so that the right competency,
skills and knowlwdgw will be mastered by the learners.
My role as an instructional leader is to mobilize and support the teachers to assist the
learners in whatever manner with regards to lesson design and assessment. I will make sure that the
teachers are provided with instructional support and learning materials to enhance their teaching
practice.

Reflection Questions:

 As a School Head, what are the characteristics of a good Weekly Home Learning Plan? How will you
know if these weekly plans are executed well? What do you need to do if there are teachers who
cannot execute their plans well?
 What do you need to look for in the teachers’ lesson plans/weekly home learning plans to know that
they are designed well? How can you help the teachers who finds it difficult to develop well-designed
lesson?

Reflection

The Weekly Home Learning Plan is essential to the process of teaching and learning in the
new modality since it serves as a blueprint, a concrete plan to guide the learners, parents, learning
facilitators and stakeholders on what subject, objective and activities should the learner do and
accomplish to meet the required competencies in the Modular Learning Modality. The school had
provided Self Learning Modules for all learners. The school had also provided
supplementary materials to help them in their learning. The parents have conveyed their support in
the implementation of this learning modality and expressed their willingness to be paartners in
carrying out the plans for the modular distance learning. As the parents monitor the progress of the
learners, the weekly Home Learning Plan will be their basis to track down the day-to-day activities of
their children.
The subject matter of a good weekly home learning plan shouls be related to the everyday life
of a child. Learning Plans should be child-centered. The topics, learning tasks and assessments
aligned to its objectives.
Teachers needing assistance will be guided and provided with teachnical assistance in proper
execution of their learning plans.

 How can I assist the teachers who have students who are lagging behind in their lessons?
 What are the steps we need to do to help these students learn their lessons better and ensure the
quality of learning?

Reflection

I always provide teachnical assistance to the teachers through constant monitoring. Individual
Learners Monitoring Plan should also be seen to be properly implemented as well as intervention
tools.
The steps that we have to do to help the students who lag behind is through constant
monitoring of the implementation of the intervention activities given to their learners. The help of
teachers and parents must also be capacitated to make sure the learners learn their lessons better.
Open communication to parents and stakeholdersshould be strengthened to help achieve quality
learning outcomes.

Reflection Questions:

 How can you build up our local learning resources for both teachers and students? How can you
ensure that that these learning resources are quality assured and are placed in protected drives
which the teachers can easily access?

Reflection

To build up our local learning resources for both teachers and students I should do the
following:
 encourage teachers to create instructional materials
 encourage the use of localized and indigenous materials that are effective in the teaching
and learning so as to address the needs of the learners
 collaborate with teachers in conducting action research that will result in producing learning
materials that can be of support to the modules
 encourage teachers and learners to use learning portals as reliable source of educational
materials such as LR Portals, DepEd Commons, DepEd TV, IBC 13 and Silnag Abrenio
 provision of strong internet connectivity

Reflection Questions:

 As the school’s instructional leader, how can I help my teachers have professional development
activities that can help them improve their competencies and also help them progress in their career
as teachers?

Reflection

As an instructional leader, I will guide and assist my co-teachers. Making myself updated as
well as the teachers through attending webinars, trainings, workshops and focus group discussions
and other professional endeavors can help them improve their competencies and also progress in
their career as teachers.
Monitoring the teachers’ developmental plans may also improve their key result areas.
Streghtening the LAC sessions can also be of great help to strengthen their weaknesses and
developmental needs. Undego graduate studies could also add to their professional growth.
Consistency in the monitoring of teachers’ competencies, checking developmental plans to
make necessary adjustments can help them improve and meet their developmental needs.
Extending help in giving technical assistance to develop the competencies of the teachers are
very important to address the issue. The support of the School Head can be contributory.
Encouraging them to use the DepEd Portals to reinforce learning in helping them improve their
teaching practice. Through the use of LRMDS and DepEd Portals to improve their access of learning
materials.

Conclusion (State the overall impact or lesson learned)

 The teachers are the key factors in making the delivery modalities successful. Enhancing
pedagogical skills and continuing professional development through the help of instructional coaches
and leaders are important to ensure the quality of ducation we want to provide and deliver for our
learners. We have to be strong, safe and helathy to realize our goals during this pandemic because
we continue to live our promise to stand for education whatever happens for we will never give up no
our learners.
