2 – ABOUT THE INSPECTION REPORT

To inspect on the protection relay Micom P241 display error code 0x0c160013. Below are the findings from
the relay that we received.

3 – Visual and Detailed of Inspection

1. Physically the relay was fine. No abnormality found on the relay.

2. We try power up the relay. Relay power up successfully at first. After few minutes the error code
0x0c160013 was pop up and display on the HMI. As shown below:

3. We switch off the relay. Then we power up again. Below are the new findings:
a) Relay power up successfully.
b) After few minutes error code pop up and display on the HMI.
c) Out of sudden the relay reboot by itself.

 4. Switch off again. Then switch on back. We manage to retrieve all the data from the relay. Such like
the settings, Programmable Scheme Logic (PSL) and the event.

5. Try to communicate with error code display. No communication be made once error code display on
HMI.
6. There is no abnormality from the event that we retrieve:

 7. From the manufacturing below are the explanation for the error code:

4 – RECOMMENDATIONS/ PROPOSAL

a) The CPU of the relay need to be change if there are no other symptoms detected
b) But due to this relay reboot by itself after error code display, not advise to do factory reset it’s better
that relay to be change.

5 – CONCLUSION

Based on our observation and the information that we have collected; the Micom 241 relay need to be change
due to not only error code due to CPU issue but other symptoms were detected as well, as such reboot by itself
after error code appear.
