The immediate help given to a sick or an injured person
before taking him/her to the doctor is called first aid.
POISON CHEMICAL NAPHTHALENE BALLS LIZOL

1. Wear only cotton clothes in the kitchen as synthetic clothes catch fire easily.
2. Never play with matchsticks.
3. Use a lighter instead of matchsticks to light the gas stove.
4. Do not keep kerosene, diesel, petrol or other such substances in the kitchen.
These substances catch fire easily.
5. Regularly check and repair all your electrical appliances especially in the kitchen.
6. Switch off the knob the cylinder when not in use especially at night.
7. In case of leakage open the doors and windows of the kitchen and do not touch
any electrical appliance.
STOP The victim should not run as running can increase the fire
due to increase in oxygen supply.
DROP The victim should drop on the ground and cover his/her face
with the hands to prevent injury to the face.
• 3) If the cut is made by a rusted object, an anti –tetanus injection may be needed.
1. To stop the bleeding in case of deep cuts, take some cotton wool or
make a thick pad of sterile gauze and press on the wound.
2. Then, tie it tightly with a bandage.
3. Raise the injured body part to stop the bleeding.
4. Take the injured person to a doctor.
