How To Overcome Frustration 28 6 21
How To Overcome Frustration 28 6 21
Luke 5: 5-7
5 One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,[a] the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of
God. 2 He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the
boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the
boat.
4
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
5
Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the
nets.”
6
When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in
the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
In the text that we have read we can see two fishermen who after
having worked all night, they would not have absolutely fished nothing,
despite the investment made, they had not had good results
• Parents who feel that even the effort - their children never value anything.
• Husbands or wives who feel that no longer they are trying to put on your part in their marriage nothing changes, nothing
improves.
• Could feel that even we work and work we can never get out of debt, and we do not see the prosperity in our life and in our
family.
• Could feel frustrated because the business that with so much illusion and effort we started has not yield the expected results
• Could feel frustrated because despite all the medicine and treatments – the health or someone in the family does not gets
better.
• Could feel frustrated because even though you have good academic preparation, and experience, we never managed to find
the job opportunity we want so much.
We have to know that according to psychologists that frustration can manifest in different ways, and many of them affect us and
also to our family:
• Anxiety: When frustration gives us anxiety, people will act with impatience and repetitive behaviors.
• Evasion: Frustration can lead us to experience a sensation of total failure and therefore people abandon their objective and
surrender
• Imitation: Many times, when people see that cannot achieve what people would like in their life or with the family, people try
to imitate the rest of people to get the same as them.
• Pressure: When people feel frustrated, also feel pressed by what other people can think and what these people can talk or
say about them.
• Aggression: This is one of the most notable manifestations of someone who is feeling highly frustrated, because people
manifest it through aggressive behaviors.
Now that we see what frustration is and how it manifests in the life,
(Luke 5: 2-3) 2 He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of
the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from
the boat.
Many times, the cause of our frustration is that people feel tired, since people feel that despite all the effort, even though all
the sacrifice they have done nothing has changed, nothing has improved.
That's why you need to invite Jesus to the boat of your family, from
your marriage, projects, businesses, etc.
It means no longer doing things on ourselves, in our capacity and in
our strength.
To see a great miracle first thing, you had to do is let Jesus enter in your life
12
Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do,
but our eyes are on you.”
The Lord doesn't want to see you frustrated fighting in your own forces, extended
and worn out, He wants you to trust him and make your battles and your
fights be the battles and fights of the Lord
(2 chronicles 20:15)
2 CHRONICLES 20:15

He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or
discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
II) To overcome frustration the Lord requests three things of us:
LUKE 5:4-5
NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION
4
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
5
Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the
nets.”
Effort: (vs 4) When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
The Lord could have made the fish appear on the shore of the beach, but he
asked they to row in the sea, he asked them to make a plus effort, that they would not give up, that effort mean that they
had to do the possible, so that the Lord would do the impossible
The Lord tonight makes us that same call, if you feel frustrated, the Lord calls us to row into sea, not to surrender, to
do not give up, not let our dreams lose and projects, not to give up that we have with so much effort
achieved,
It calls us to row in the sea to reconnect again with him
Obedience and Faith: (vs 5) 5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you
say so, I will let down the nets.”
Maybe they were even thinking of giving up that work, but Pedro said some
wonderful words: In your word I will place the net!
Despite your failures, launch the net again, play the door again,
go back to your treatment of the disease you suffer, fight again for
your children, fight again for your marriage, do not close your business,
(Luke 5: 7) 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so
full that they began to sink.
Having done it, they are key words because we have to understand that we are not going to leave
our frustration only with good intentions, but with actions.
Phrase: Use your frustration and turn it into inspiration all we can
in Christ who strengthens us
