A good rule of thumb for checking your specifications is done by answering the
question "Does my description provide enough detail that misinterpretation is not
possible?"
The complete the following work in your Word doc including the use of Headings.
Create a Title Page and an Introduction for your assignment.
Provide a few paragraphs that summarize what work was done in your Excel and
why with a referral to the Excel file such as "See Excel file xxxxxx.xlsx for more
details". Do not use hyperlinks to connect your Word doc to your Excel
file. Provide images of the appropriate parts of the Excel sheet directly in the
Word document. (You are still required to submit the Excel file.)
This part of the assignment is independent of the topic for this assignment. Your
topic may NOT be a building NOR requires plywood. But we can use the link
below to explore grades, standards and specifications for a material, in this case
we're going to use plywood which is available on the link. On the
link http://cwc.ca/wood-products/panel-products/plywood/grades/ click on the
"grades" link to open a pdf. What minimum specification (grade) would you
choose if you needed plywood for architectural concrete walls. These are
structural concrete walls but the concrete has a unique requirement, they are
highly visible to the public and have to be aesthetically pleasing (sometimes
referred to as architectural concrete) -- the outside of the concrete wall has to
look good. And the quality of the appearance of the concrete wall is dependent
on the type of plywood used to create the wood form that the concrete is poured
into to create the wall. Is the specification (grade) you choose also a standard?
Why? Provide your answer (and the question on a standard) as a separate
heading in your Word document. The following figure is an example of how
plywood is used as a form for a concrete wall. You can see the concrete wall in
the middle of the image and wood and plywood forms not yet removed on the
right.
