1.0 PURPOSE:
This method Statement describes the construction process to execute the Toilet Waterproofing System
as per approved design /drawings/Specifications in planned and systematic manner
3.0 MATERIALS:
1. Dichtament DS2 – (Make – MC BAUCHEMIE)
2. MC Mischoel AEA/ Cebex 100
3. Centricrete
EQUIPMENTS:
The equipment to be used for the application of the above products shall be in good working order
complying with the manufacturers recommendations.
4.0 RESPONSIBILITY
1.1 The Project Manager shall be responsible for all the activities of work execution.
1.2 The site engineer shall be the responsible to execute the work as per the approved method
statement. Ensure operatives are working in accordance with method statement.
1.3 The supervisor shall be responsible for managing site execution and control of labours,
materials & tools/tackles for the work.
1.4 The surveyor shall be responsible for the level, co-ordinate checking with respect to
the drawing. Work with site engineer to carry out the as- built survey/ top of concrete if
any.
1.5 The QC engineer shall be responsible for ensuring the quality of work as per the
Technical specifications & Method statement. ITP implementation and ensuring the
quality of work execution.
1.6 The safety officer shall be responsible to ensure the safety of workers during the
progress of work.
5.0 PROCEDURE
Pre Treatment Clearance – Toilet waterproofing activity shall be started after completion of
internal cement plaster, fixing of service door and window sub frame ,electrical and
concealed plumbing works inside the toilet area and clearance to be obtained from MEP
department prior to commencement of waterproofing job.
The surface to be treated must be structurally sound. It must be clean, free of all lose particles, oil,
grease, efflorescence, traces of form curing compounds and any other previous treatments or

contamination. If the surface is very smooth we advise to roughen the surface by suitable method.
Wire brush or similar tools can be used for the same.
5.2 COVING
All the horizontal corner should be filled with 1:4 cement mortar by making coving of 20mm X 20mm
to help liquid applied waterproofing coating for achieving a continuous and seam less finish.
All existing PVC sleeves left in slab during concreting should be removed without fail. All the pipe inlets
and outlets should be packed tightly by using CENTRICRETE after sealing all the opening pipe
periphery. SWR pipe surface shall be roughened by applying solvent cement plus sand in advance by
the plumbing contractor.
MIXING: - Mixing ratio for Dichtament DS2 is 100 p.b.w. Powder to 26- 30 p.b.w. water, i.e. 6 to 6.5 kg
water is needed (as per consistency) per 30kg sack of Dichtament DS2. The liquid component should
be taken in a bucket and the powder component slowly mixed in using mechanical stirrer, until a lump
free, homogenous slurry is obtained. The mix can be applied with a trowel, brush or spray. Application
at temperature below +5°C and on frozen surface should be avoided. Slightly dampen the surface prior
to coating.
COATING -The Coating system should be applied when the surface is in moistened before applying the
system. Dichtament DS 2 Slurry needs to be applied by brush to the whole area to be treated. In the
crystalline based Coating the coverage of Dichtament DS 2 in two coats will be 2.3 kg per sq. m .
TATA PROJECTS LIMITED
1st Coat of chemical shall be applied up to a height of 1’ above FFL and 1’on horizontal portion near
opening/toilet door, (Outer frame face of entrance of toilet). Let it dry. Apply 2nd coat of chemical
when first coat is still green/tacky/not completely dried out and immediately in wet condition Chat
coat with ready mix mortar of approved make or cement mortar 1:4 with cebex 112 – 150 ml/bag
OR MC Mischoel AEA 150 ml/bag to be applied, so that water proofing membrane does not
get damaged.
PROTECTIVE PLASTER: - On the Chat coat a protective plaster of ready mix mortar of approved make or
cement mortar 1:4 or with cebex 112 – 150 ml/bag OR MC Mischoel AEA 150 ml/bag to be applied.
Minimum thickness should be maintained 15mm for horizontal and vertical area. Cure the plaster for 7
days.
Ponding Test for 48 hours shall be conducted after completion of protective plaster on chemical
treated and cured crystalline coating surface. Any observed leakages shall be retreated and retested.
7.0 DOCUMENTATION:
1) Structural and Architectural Drawing.
2) Checklist
NOTE: Guarantee of water proofing shall be given by water proofing agency in required
format for a period of 10 Years. Agency shall be approved by PDPL
