II. Essay: Provide a brief explanation on the following questions below.


1. Why do we reporters need to provide accurate information when they are
reporting? Provide a concept on functions of media that will support your
statement.

ANSWER:
The reporters’ credibility and accuracy in reporting is very important because we
are mostly relying on the news that we heard or watch. If a reporter did not report exact
information it might affect us also if they are not sure on what they are reporting their job
will be at stake. One of the functions of media is the instructive function it says there that
media is existing to cultivate knowledge by teaching so if there is no accurate information
that reporters are reporting many people are affected that is why reporters need to provide
exact information.

2. Why do we exist, and why do some people are suffering injustices? Provide an
example to support your statement.

ANSWER:
We exist because we all have purpose in this world. We live in a cruel world
where everything is unfair because some people are willing to do everything just to have
what they want that can cause others for injustice example an innocent man is accused for
committing a rape. Injustice is a people’s act because of selfishness and a flawed decision
making also money is always involved to those people who are causing injustice to
others.

3. Why did Karl Marx mention that “The world would be a better place without
religion”, is he against religion?

ANSWER:
Karl Marx was a German Philosopher in the 19 th century known as the founder of
Marxism that viewed religion as a form of protest by the working class against their poor
economic conditions, basically Marx is against religion for he believed that if religion is
abolished man can have their true happiness because in religion, he is in controlled by his
own illusions, without religion human can regained his senses so that he will move
around by his own. He also says that religion was a way for the social class to become
powerful and dominate the others to become a wealthy capitalist. He said that if you want
to know the real world you must give up your superstitious beliefs because they have
narcotic effect on the mind.

4. Why do we say that media is very important? Provide at least 4 importance of


media.

ANSWER:
Media is the number one source of information worldwide. It serves as the voice
against issues in societies for example the gender discrimination if it is broadcast on
media the public becomes aware and make necessary steps in resolving it. It educates the
society on what is happening around the world. Raises our consciousness by providing
knowledge and let us see the true live pictures of the events worldwide.
