ABSTRACT

Having a romantic relationship may affect students when it comes to their performance in

school. Having a romantic relationship especially to the teenagers cannot focus on their studies

because of their partners. Today’s generation, most of students are engaged in to having romantic

relationships which lead them to have different effects regarding their academic performance.

Academic performance is defined as the measure of student’s achievement across various

academic subjects. Romantic relationship is the personal time with another person - sharing

affection, intimacy sometimes and mutual interest, tenderness and caring for another person

directly (Myers2010). We conducted this research in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines to

let students who are in romantic relationship to be aware on having romantic relationship.

Recommendations

On the basis of the findings and conclusions of the study, the researchers recommended;

1. Future researchers should do further studies romantic relationship and its effect in

academic performance for a better results and should use different respondents to test

the validity of the findings.

2. Respondents must know how to balance both romantic relationship and academic

performance (grades) for them able to be aim a high grade.

3. Respondents should know the value of prioritizing the studies over romantic

relationship

4. The parents or guardians should guide more their children.

5. The parents should give their son or daughter more advice of having romantic

relationship.

6. And respondents should know their priority and limitations.

7. The teacher must give proper attention to their students who are involved in romantic

relationship so that teachers could also help in increasing the academic performance

of their students.
