Motivational Cover Letter: Application for Attorney Position 22 June 2022

I refer and respond to the advertisement for a position as an attorney with

Richard Spoor Incorporated (“RSI”) dated 9 June 2022. Please find my CV and
two reference letters attached.

My entire legal career has been devoted to assisting and representing

vulnerable workers in cases to prevent or combat discrimination and unfair
practises in the workplace.

I have extensive experience in arbitrations at various bargaining councils as

well as at the CCMA. Furthermore, I have appeared in the Labour Court, and
am well versed in drafting documents, including expert witness reports.

I have considerable experience in consulting with counsel, in researching the

law and in developing and critiquing legal arguments and am fluent in
English.

Over the course of my career I have regularly consulted both with individual
clients and with large groups of workers, in order to perform the
abovementioned work.

I have previously conducted legal research for RSI in cases against both the
gold and coal mining industries, and have followed these cases with great
interest over the years.

These skills would enable me to fulfil the responsibilities of an attorney at RSI.

I feel that my particular work experience with vulnerable workers, would
make me a valuable addition to a firm with the ethos and focus on social
justice that RSI has.
