An autobiography of Grace Latoya Hamilton

aka Spice .
Grace Latoya Hamilton was born on the 6th of
August 1982 at the Spanish Town Hospital in
the St .Catherine parish of southereastern
Jamaica . She was raised in the town of
Portmore in Jamaica .
Grace tragically lost her father at age 9
which she moved to the United Kingdom
with her grandparents for a few years
where she completed part of her
education there before returning to
Jamaica in 1983.
When she returned to her homeland she
enrolled at the St. Catherine High School.
As a student of this school Grace was
active in the Jamaican Cultural
Development Commission Festival .Over
the years she won a lot of medals at the
JCDC Festival, as a teenager Grace was a
choir leader at one of the local church in
her home village .
Grace initially wanted to be a chartered
accountant , but lately decide to pursue a
career in music .She joined the Edna
Manley college of visual and performing
arts in Kingston Jamaica ,where she
completed a course in music and drama at
the college .
HER CAREER .
She begin her music career while she was
still in college .She started experimenting
with dancehall music which she learnt
how to mix songs .Grace who started to
appear at events as Dj and playing music
at local shows .
As a singer and Dj ,her first major break
came at age 18 in the year 2000 when she
got a chance to perform at the annual
dancehall music festival well known as
Sting .
Although she was a new and unknown
artist her performance at Sting drew the
attention of the crowd .She was requested
for several encores of her songs by the
crowd at the festival .
The crowd response to her performance
at Sting Festival caught the attention of
the music industry professionals in
Jamaica , as the festival is well known for
the best vocalist and blunt crowd ,which
she managed to catch the attention of at
Sting Festival ,meant she had some special
talent .
After her successful debut in the Sting
Festival ,she was managed by Earlton
Clarke for the following two years .In 2002
,while on a tour in the United Kingdom
[UK], she was spotted by Jamaican music
artist Baby Cham ,who introduced her to
fellow Jamaican music producer David
[Dave] Kelly .She started a successfully
collaboration with Kelly , releasing a string
of singles produced by him for his record
label Madhouse Records .
Her first single for Madhouse was
complain {Mi Gone }. Her subsequent
singles for the label were based on Bad
Gal Riddim style of instrumentals .Two of
such successful songs were Right There
(featuring Toi) and Hype .
In 2004 ,she collaborated with Jamaican
music legend Jimmy Cliff .She was
featured in song (I Want I Do I Get )from
Cliff’s album (Black Magic). In 2006 ,she
featured in Jamaican reggae artist Beenie
Man’s song (Hot) from his album (Concept
Of Life ).
In 2008 was a big year for Spice when she
released a collaborative single (Romping
Shop) with Jamaican male dancehall artist
Vybz Kartel in the country of Guyana .The
song was her first major hit and her most
controversial track ,as it was banned by
the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation for
its explicit content .The song reach
number 76 on the Billboard US R and B
charts and was also featured on the
Billboard list of the top Reggaeton
Choruses of the 21st century .
It was also a favorite with the US based
FM radio stations , which played it at
regular intervals on their networks.
In 2009 , she signed a multi -album deal
with VP Records ,Her non-album single
SLIM VS FLUFFY ,featuring Pamputtae ,
peaked at number one of the Canadian
reggae charts .In 2010 she lately released
her own single Jim Screechie .
In 2011 Spice collaborated with Gappy
Ranks for the song What Ever We
like ,which was released as a bonus track
in Gappy’s album, Thanks and Praise .The
same year she released a remix version of
her song ( FUN) Featuring with Missy
Elliot.
In late 2013 , she released her single ( So
Mi Like It). The song gained tremendous
popularity world wide . A remixed version
of the song ,featuring rapper Busta
Rhymes ,was included in his mixtape
Catastrophic 2.
In 2014 ,she made her debut as a movie
actor in the film Destiny ,which was
released on April 2 2014 , she released her
debut extended play in November of
2014 , So Mi Like It , named after her hit
song of the previous year .The album
featured five songs. Conjungal Visit one of
the songs from the EP , was a
collaborative effort between her andVybz
Kartel . Its music video garnered over two
million views in a 24 hour period after
releasing on the video blog World Star Hip
Hop .She was featured in the song Jolly by
American rapper ASAP Ferg ,along with
soca artist Bunji Garlin ,from the mixtape
Ferg Forever .
In may 2015 ,she released the single
Needle Eye .It was a tribute to the 1987
single of the same title by fellow Jamaican
Dancehall musician Shabba Ranks . In May
2016, she collaborated with now
American rapper Kid Ink for his single
Nasty .
In April 2017 ,she released her single
Sheet and announced her upcoming debut
album . In June 2017 ,she collaborated
With DJ Jax Jones for the single You Don’t
Know Me . In August of 2017, she was
featured in DJ Charlie Sloths track ,I Can
Do from his album The Plug .In 2018 she
joined the cast of the seventh season of
the Vh1 reality tv show Love and Hip Hop
Atlanta. Where she started live shows in
discos and night clubs .
Spice move on by bring her Jamaican
talent to stages in the United States Of
America .
Spice then Lately released a song Black
Hypocrisy in 2019 ,which debuted at
number one on the Reggae Digital Song
Sales chart. She also released a single
Romantic Mood ,Cool It and Genie .
In October of 2019 she appear in the
remix with Sean Paul of dumpling by Stylo
G.
In February of 2020 spice release her first
solo titled Rolling , later down in the year
in the month of August she release
another single titled Inches.

Personal Life
In 2006 Spice began dating Nicholas Lall .
She gave birth to their first son Nicholas
Lall Jr ,on August 22 ,2007 . She also got
pregnant in 2009 with their first daughter
Nicholatoy Lall ,on the 21st of January
2011. In 2016 , the couple called off the
engagement and ended their relationship.
In 2020 ,Spice began dating American
cinematographer Justin Budd , whom she
met during the filming of Love & Hip Hop
Atlanta.

In 2010 she won the best International


Female artiste of the year , she also won
the best DJ of the year .

In 2011 she won for the best dancehall


song of the year .

In 2016 she won for the best Dancehall
single of the year
In 2017 she won for the Top Collaboration
for the year , that year she also won the
Best Top Female Artist of the year .

Businesses
Aside from music Spice has a lot of
businesses all part of the wonderful
Island Jamaica
In the year of 2009 Spice opened her own
clothing boutique Spicey Couture in
Kingston Jamaica , the boutique later
expanded by opening branches across
that beautiful Island . She also opened a
sports bar and lounge called 8 ball,
located in her hometown of Pourtmore in
2010.
In 2020 Spice launched her own clothing
line Graci Noir and her Make up Line Faces
& Laces . In the same year of 2020 Spice
released her own T shirt collection.

Philanthrophy .

In 2018 ,Spice founded the Grace


Hamilton Women Empowerment
Foundation (GHWEF) in Jamaica .The
foundation was to set up in order to uplift
young women and groom them to
success. The foundation aims to enrich
women through businesses and
entrepreneurship .

Net worth .
Spice has act in films ,use her voice for
movie make overs , sang hundreds of
music and help young men and
women ,host stage shows and even reality
tv series ,for all of this Spice made a lot of
money over the years ,spice is now worth
over 7 million USD. The richest female
dancehall artist in the whole of Jamaica
and the world .
