Graffiti Painting
Surprisingly, I had little trouble coming up for the idea of what to draw over the picture.
I used the first idea that popped into my head of an old-timey, turn of the century, black
and white villain. I figured it would be unique and probably something that few of my
classmates would also think of. I used multiple drawing platforms to create this, and
found that one program was useful for some things while the other program was useful
in other ways. The hardest part was writing the story.
This would be an amazing project for primary aged students! They would be so joyful
to get to draw all over their teacher’s face. My only concern for school-aged children of
any grade would be the (inevitable) inappropriate drawing. However, with enough
guidance and vigilantly keeping an eye on students’ work, it could be very sweet and
fun. This project could also be adapted to where the students could draw over a picture
of themselves; for example, the class turning themselves into superheroes, the job
they want when they grow up, an animal, etc. That way, the students would probably
be less inclined to draw something mean or inappropriate. I would feel comfortable
having the students work on their own picture at home, but not a picture of the teacher.
