GCC will attract people who have been hurt, burned, abandoned or neglected by the power of the Holy Spirit. If your life is the same when you accepted God into your heart then something needs to change. You should be changing and growing, The Holy Spirit constantly challenges you to be a better Christian. Because the Holy Spirit is God, you need to proclaim Him from the highest places, more importantly you need to start with Spring Valley. Spring Valley and the church are full of broken people, but nothing is broken enough that God can not fix. There are people walking around Spring Valley who are hungry, desperate and tired because they are not living with the Holy Spirit. When your life is full of the Holy Spirit you are victorious. The book of Acts is going to challenge the church in many different areas, Are you ready?

This year there are 14 people going on the Guatemala Missions trip so San Juan La laguna departing on July 12th from LAX. While down there they will be doing various projects such as building chairs, teaching English and preparing for the community concert in the towns gymnasium, Most of the team will be there for two weeks, but a few are staying an extra week to head to Tikal to see the ancient Mayan Ruins. Those going on the trip this year are: Adam Moore, Jack Shriver, Russ Camp, Ricardo & Nancy Paff, Jorge Alarcon, Pyvotal band members: Janelle Wilson, Joy Wilson, Jesse Wilson, and Caleb Johnson. Also going is Angie Martinez, Alec Martinez, K.C. Berumen and Pastor Danny Martinez.

June is here already! May was a great month! We spoiled our Moms with breakfast to go and gifts from the kids. We also had a pizza lunch in the form of a fundraiser which went well and we raised a little money which was used for our summer fun activities. We already purchased a slip and slide and a splash sprinkler for Friday water days. The kids will have countless hours of fun getting wet on hot days. Also in May we had a guest speaker (the Tooth Fairy) come and give an assembly on good dental hygiene. We also offered free vision testing for all kids ages three and up. It was a big success and we were able to test almost everyone. It was a healthy and fun month. We had five new children start and are anticipating a few more. Keep praying for more children as we will lose several kids who are going to start Kindergarten over the summer. During the month of June it will be practice, practice, practice for the Pre-K kids graduation. We will have the graduation on Sunday, June 19th which is Fathers Day. We hope to see all of you there! On June 18th our Wee Dancers (Wee Dance is a class that we offer that teaches coordination through music and movement) will be at the San Diego County Fair showing off their dance moves. It should be a great show! Check out our fliers in the foyer of the church and please pass some on to friends, family or community members who may be interested in our program.
