Introduction
There are various basic learning theories discussed earlier. These
are divided into two – behavioral learning theories and cognitive
learning theories.
In Behavioral Learning Theory (S-R Theory, Classical Conditioning,
Operant Conditioning and Social Learning Theory), the behaviorist
believe that behavior is learned through conditioning and
reinforcement.
On the other hand, Cognitive Learning Theories, learners construct
new ideas based on their background experiences.
These learning theories works hand-in-hand on the teaching-
learning process. It helps teachers to better align the learning plan for
the learners.
II. Outcome
For Classical and Operant Conditioning, usage of positive and
negative reinforcement is being highlighted most especially on the early years
of life of a child. This is why the K to Grade 6 learning experience plays a
crucial role in molding a child’s behavior towards learning.
Observational Learning is also discussed which gives teachers an
idea on the importance of teachers as good models to the students.
Lastly, the Multiple Intelligences which is the most recent among
the other theories where there are eight intelligences (Verbal-Linguistic,
Logical-Mathematical, Musical, Bodily-Kinesthetic, Visual-Spatial,
Interpersonal, Intrapersonal and Naturalistic) described by Gardner.
As a teacher, there learning theories will help me to find ways on
how I can use reinforcement for Grade three learners. It gives a direct idea on
dealing with the different behaviors each student possess.
I can use the Multiple Intelligences theory in crafting my weekly
home learning plan and with the performance tasks and learning tasks that
my students will use.

III. Growth
Understand the basic learning theories, it aids me in knowing
that each learner is different and one learning activity will not suit
every learner. It encourages me to know more learning theories
that will best suit a certain situation of a child.

During this pandemic times, positive reinforcement is widely

used and being lenient during the first year of the modality of
learning we are using in the Philippines.
For instance, during our online learning, I am showing my
students an example of the best work coming from their
classmates. It did not only boost the morale of the students but also
me as a teacher, since the students are still doing their best despite
the troubles we are facing right now.

IV. Conclusion

For this topic, I’ve learned more about the reinforcement and
how to make it more effective during the distance learning modality.
This is valuable in helping all learners and to help teachers
in crafting the learning plan and the learning activities.
