ABC Community School

Teaching is something I have always been passionate about. It’s a way for
me to help my students grow and learn, inside and outside of the classroom.
Something that helps me achieve this is technology. Technology has been heavily
incorporated in these students' lives from a very early age. It is something that
will not go away any time soon and is very beneficial. It allows my students to
practice the lessons we have learned in class, on their own time and at their own
pace. The teachers here use their resources to better understand their students.
As said by the School of Education “the use of technology to tailor learning plans for
each student is possible. Teachers can create lessons based on student interests and
strengths. An added benefit is that students can learn at their own pace. When they
need to review class material to get a better understanding of essential concepts,
students can review videos in the lesson plan. The data generated through these
online activities enable teachers to see which students struggled with certain
subjects and offer additional assistance and support.”(School of Education, 2020). It
would be unfair for that privilege to be taken away from these children. These
children need the best they could possibly get in order to get the best education.
Not to mention taking away the technology that we currently have now will make
it more difficult for the teachers. Teachers rely on the programs they use to create
lesson plans and activities that get their students to explore and learn. It is also a
way for children to stay up to date on their assignments and allows them to not
fall behind, because they are able to access their materials from home. Taking
away these resources would be damaging to every student at ABC Community
School, not to mention damaging to the staff as well. How will our students grow
to their full potential if they are limited in recourses.
The national and state standards are relatively similar. They both indicate the
importance of building an understanding of technology, as well as the use of it.
The difference between them is that the national is just a broad generalization of
what they would like to see from the students and what they should know as they
get further into their use of technology. Instead of setting standards for each
grade, state standards are now taking they broad generalization and have broken
it down into grade bands. These bands indicate what should be known by the
time they hit a certain grade. Each indicator is then expanded as the grade level
goes up. It is the expectation of what they should know, and it “allows the
districts to build their curriculum off the state standard.” For my lesson I will be
meeting 1.C.2.1 “Use digital models and simulations with teachers' assistance.” By
helping students navigate from one program to another. As well as helping them
in their creative process.
Name of lesson: My Mad Lib story: Nouns, Verbs, and Adjectives

their story if desired. They must have at least three slides for their illustration.
Materials needed to facilitate the lesson: “powerpoint” program, worksheet,
search engine, computer

they like what their story came out then have them open the program
“powerpoint”.
5. Once “powerpoint” has been opened, go to “blank” and begin a new
presentation.

date and their name.
