Paramesh for his 30 years work on AIR POLLUTION AND IMPACT ON CHILD
HEALTH. His work on smoking and impact on child health was responsible in
bringing about the antismoking legislation in Karnataka State.
• Life Time Achievement Award for the year 2006 on Allergy, Asthma and
Immunology by International Asthma Forum, Denver, USA. 2007
• Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Annual Dr Shantilal Seth Oration Awardee 2008.
• The Bangalore founder Kempegowda Award for Health and Environment 2011

• Athi Vishistha Paryavaran Mitra Award 2013 – by Academy of Respiratory Medicine

• His work was instrumental in the Supreme Court of India to tackling air pollution in
major cities and Bhurelal Committee was appointed to maintain school environments
also.
• His work on traffic and non-traffic police was discussed in the Parliament for
remedial measures.
