Job Description: Contracts Manager

About Roha Medical Campus


Roha Medical Campus PLC is building an integrated health campus in Addis Ababa. When complete, it will provide world-
class, high-quality, affordable healthcare across multiple hospitals and facilities. The campus will include a medical school
and facilities for research and innovation. It will be set in a lush, green setting, built to the highest sustainability standards,
and with a beautiful urban park open to the public. Development of the campus has begun and the first hospital is already
under construction.

About the role


Roha is seeking a Contracts Manager to support the successful development of the Roha Medical Campus in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia.

Responsibilities include:
• Serve as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations and provide advice and guidance to the
different teams relating to contract generation;
• Create, prepare, review and edit contracts and nondisclosure agreements, etc;
• Negotiate terms and conditions for contracts with suppliers and contractors;
• Manage commercial aspect of contracts through their life cycle i.e. variations, payment certificates etc
• Develop standards and best practices for contracting and purchasing;
• Manage the procurement and reconciliation of project equipment and supplies, by issuing and closing
purchase requisitions and orders;
• Assist in close out or renewal of contracts;
• Assist and communicate with senior leadership in decision-making relating to contracting and purchasing;
• Support preparation of budgets, financial models, action and project plans;
• Manage and coordinate relationships with suppliers both internally and externally;
• Take on other tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure the overall company success;

Location: This role is based in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa.


Timing: August 2021
Remuneration: Salary is competitive and will depend on applicant’s background and experience.

About the candidate


Successful applicants have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, think at a superior intellectual level, are flexible
and imaginative, are high-energy, persistent, self-starters, are good communicators in writing and verbally, and will
preferably have a proven track record of delivering on complex projects in challenging environments. Applicants could
demonstrate this by having:
• At least 5 years work experience in a role that covers supply chain management, procurement and contracts
management on large scale industrial or commercial project;
• Experience as a contracts manager or supply chain manager;
• Previous experience leading a purchasing function of a large scale industrial or commercial project;
• Strong understanding of local and international construction contracts like FIDIC;
• Experience managing pre-qualifications and tendering processes for various multi-disciplinary projects;
• Experience in healthcare projects or operations is a plus;
• Excellent and effective communicator, both oral and written, with internal and external stakeholders;
• English and Amharic fluency is a must;
• Experience working in Ethiopia is a must;
• Bachelors degree in business, engineering, construction management, or supply chain management.
