PIPE CLASS 22-Apr-10 Revised DNM RGP

1. GENERAL
Note: The information in this document is confidential and the property of UOP LLC and must not be disclosed to others or reproduced in any manner or used for any purpose whatsoever

1.1 Scope

This Standard defines the pipe classes to be used for Petrochemical Plant and Petroleum Refinery piping applications.

1.2 Basis of Pipe Classes

Pipe classes are based on material of construction, service requirements, flange class and facing, corrosion allowance, and design temperature and pressure ranges.

1.3 Flange Finish Abbreviations

A. RF - Raised Face
B. FF - Flat Face
C. RJ - Ring Joint

2. IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM FOR PIPE CLASSES

2.1 General Pipe Classes (for a listing, refer to Table 1)

Identification follows a four character system. The first character identifies the material, the second character identifies the flange class, the third character identifies the flange facing and
the fourth character identifies the corrosion allowance.

3rd Character Flange
