1 Installation Process
This chapter describes Huawei equipment installation process. The installation process takes effect
immediately after a contract is signed, and the equipment transfers to the maintenance procedure after
being accepted. Figure 1-1 shows the installation flowchart.
Completion of the project relies on the close cooperation between you and Huawei. We wish the project a
great success.
2 Product Description
The NetCol5000-C030 is a high-heat-flux cooling solution that applies to high-density data centers or
overheated areas in common data centers. It improves the reliability and security of the operating
environment for telecommunication equipment in the data centers.
1 LCU 4 Filter
2 LDU (optional) 5 Valve
3 Water pipe
Cooling Capacity 30 kW
Filter Level G3
Environmental Compliant with the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances
Protection (RoHS) and registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of
chemicals (REACH) standards
3 Preparations
3.1 Waterproof Requirements
Take waterproof measures for the floor in the equipment room. Before you install a cabinet support, apply
waterproof paint to the floor where the cabinet support is installed and apply waterproof adhesive to the
mounting holes for the cabinet support.
When an LDU is installed, fully enclose it by using a waterproof cofferdam and ensure that the distance
between the waterproof cofferdam and the bottom panel of the LDU is larger than 200 mm.
4 Installation Requirements
4.2 Weather
The operating temperature ranges from 4ºC to 55ºC. Use glycol solution with the specified concentration
when the operating temperature is lower than 4ºC.
The operating humidity is less than or equal to 95% RH.
The preceding data applies to the application scenarios where the altitude is lower than 1000 m. When the
altitude is higher than 1000 m, reduce the cooling capacity by 7% to 9% as the altitude increases by 1000
m.
4.4 Layout
4.4.1 Layout Principles
During the installation, connect the LCUs to the LDU by using hoses or stainless steel pipes. Fix the water
pipes connected to the LDU separately by using U-shaped pipe clips and wrap thermal insulation cotton
around the water pipes, ensuring that the thermal insulation cotton of a water pipe is not in contact with that
of other water pipes.
A 20-mesh (or more) Y-shaped filter is installed between the main water supply pipe and a pipe connected
to an LCU. The main chilled water pipe is connected after the LDU is properly installed.
A gradient of 5‰ is reserved during layout of the main condensate drainpipe to ensure smooth drainage.
Condensate drainpipes connected to the LCUs are not bent by a large angle, and no trap is generated.
Pipes are routed through a wall in parallel and wrapped with protection tubes (alternatively, vibration
isolation rubber pads are installed in the holes where the pipes are routed).
After the installation is complete, the holes on the wall are sealed and protected against water, and the pipes
do no cross each other.
4.7 Cabling
The following requirements must be met:
Cables are routed along the cable troughs on the cable trays of the telecommunication equipment.
Moisture-proof, mouse-proof, and fireproof measures are taken for the cables.
Signal cables and power cables are routed separately to avoid interference.
4.8 Safety
The following requirements must be met:
Fire control devices are installed in the equipment room.
All sockets in the equipment room are labeled.
No hazardous objects, such as flammable or explosive materials, are stored in the equipment room.
Protective covers are installed for reserved holes on the floor.
National and local fireproof standards and regulations are met.
4.9 Communication
Telephones and fax machines are installed in the equipment room for communication.
5 Checklist
5.1 Checking the Equipment Room
Table 1-1 describes the equipment room check items.
Main ground bar and The copper cables connected to the copper
sub ground bars bars are short. The diameter of the ground
cables is large.
