LET’S

SING
JOSHUA
BY MARIA JOAN B. AGUILAR
It’s already 15 minutes past 7:00 and the bell
rang. Joshua runs very fast to his class’s line.
Teacher Marlene played the music of Lupang
Hinirang.
When Joshua heard this, he immediately
stopped running. He placed his right hand on
his chest. He sang the lyrics of the Philippine
national anthem clearly and loudly.
The people around him were very proud of
what Joshua did. Even the tricycle driver
stopped running his vehicle and placed his
right hand on his chest.
After they sang the national anthem, Joshua
walked to his class’s line. He smiled and bowed
to his teacher with a humble face like he’s
saying sorry because he was late.
He had a hectic morning, but he promised
himself that he will come to school early next
time.
