1 DOCUMENT PURPOSE
This specification details the requirements for the engineering, fabrication and installaiton for Battery Energy Storage Systrem e-
House.
An e-House is a transportable, walk – in steel enclosure for protecting relevant electrical equipment in a power and energy
distribution network. .

2 DESIGN CRITERIA

2.1 Code, Standards and Specifications
As a major acceptance criterion, the e-House facility must comply to local codes, industry standards and material specifications.
Foundation forces and reactions shall be part of STAAD.Pro outputs to be provided and included in the calculations. All e-Houses
shall be designed for pre-service and in-service design conditions. All e-House steel connections (bolted and welded) shall be part
of the calculation reports.

2.2 General Arrangement Layout
The e-House shall consist of 3 separate module which shall be joined together on site. Maximum module dimension shall be 12 m
x 2.4 m x 2.9 m (L x W x H). The e-House is to be constructed with steel frames, full vertical corrugated steel side and end walls,
die-stamped corrugated steel roof, steel flooring, corrugated double hinged doors and ISO corner fittings at eight corners.

2.3 Project Specific Design Parameters
The following shall be pertinent parameters to be used for the engineering, fabrication and installation of the e-Houses.
As a minimum deflection under switchgear shall be limited to 3mm per linear meter under low voltage switchgear and 1 mm per
linear meter under medium voltage switchgear, both for pre-service and in-service desing conditions.

3.1 Mechanical Works
The supplier shall provide an engineered e-House to enclose relevant equipment for the Battery Energy Storage System. The
supplier shall design, engineer and fabricate the e-House according to all the requirements in this specification, inclusive of the
following;
• Containerized e-Houses shall be engineered to ensure structural integrity and manufactured by the supplier.
• Modularization works for each e-House shall be engineered and executed by the supplier.
• Stairs, platforms and landings for each e-house shall be engineered and provided by the supplier
• Equipment mounting for each e-House shall be engineered and executed by the supplier.

3.2 Electrical Works
The scope of electrical system for e-House includes the electrical design, engineering, installation and testing of the following:
For the design and installation, supplier must follow both international and local standards to achieve safe and efficient electrical
system.
As part of supplier’s scope, the following ABB supplied equipment shall be installed by e-House Supplier.
• ZS1 Switchgear
• 69kV Control Panel
• 69kV Feeder Protection Panel
• 69kV/13.8kV Transformer Protection Panel
• Bes Control System Panel
• Fiber Optic Terminal Equipment Panel
• Remote Terminal Unit
• Network Disturbance & Monitoring Equipment
• 125V/48VDC Battery
• 125V/48VDC Battery Charger
However, interconnection cabling, testing and commissioning of these equipment shall be ABB scope.

3.3 HVAC Works
• Supply and install of HVAC units including pipework and required supports
• Painting of materials and equipment supplied and installed shall be the responsibility of the supplier, including the supports
and hangers
• Testing and commissioning of HVAC units including pipe leak testing.
• Power supply to HVAC panel to be provided by supplier
• Control system
• HVAC units shall be installed as per the drawing provided by ABB.
• Prior to acceptance of the installation, submit 3 sets of complete Operating and Maintenance Manual to the Owner for
approval. Partial or separate data will not be accepted. All information must be original manufacturer's literature or legible
copies.
• Final inspection: Notify the Owner when final inspection of each installation is to be performed. In the event of defects or
deficiencies are found during the final inspection, final acceptance of the work will be after they have been corrected to the
satisfaction of the Owner.

4.2 Electrical System
4.2.1 System Lighting
Indoor Lighting shall have a minimum illumination level of 200 lux at FL± 0 and 250lux at FL+0.8m. Illumination at areas which has
Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD) or computer terminals shall have tolerable glare.
Outdoor lighting shall have minimum illumination level of 100 lux at all entrance of e-House. These fixtures shall be fed from e-
House Normal lighting distribution board and to be controlled by a photocell placed on the outside perimeter of the e-House.
Both Indoor and Outdoor lighting fixtures shall have PVC casing with ingress protection of IP65.
Emergency Lighting shall have 60 minimum rated batteries. It shall be provided to all outdoor lighting fixtures and selected
indoor fixtures. Fixtures to have back-up batteries must be on exit doors, walkways and close to major equipment. It shall
maintain illuminance not less than 10% of the required maintained illumination but shall not be less than 15 lux.
Switches shall be wall mounted, rated 240V and with LED indicator.

Receptacles shall be wall mounted near doors and work area. It shall be rated 240V, 2Pole, 3-pin Type with the 3rd pin earthing
suitable for indoor application.
4.2.3 Earthing
A main earthing conductor system shall be provided within the E-House. The earthing conductor system shall comprise of
numbers of strategically positioned interconnected earthing busbars.
The earthing busbars shall also be interconnected with the common plant earthing system at a minimum of two separate points.
The earthing busbars shall be made of tinned solid copper with minimum dimensions of 20mm x 10mm, mounted to the wall.
Provision of earthing of electrical equipment such as switchgear, distribution boards, control panels, and metallic frameworks
shall be directly connected to the earthing system.
Socket outlets shall be earthed via a separate earth core within the supply cable.
Luminaires shall be earthed via separate earth core within the supply cable.
Cable tray shall have adequate electrical continuity to ensure equipotential bonding and connections to earth.
Cables shall comply with IEC 60287, IEC 60502-1, IEC 60332-3.
For identification of conductors, the following colors are permitted: Black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, grey,
white, pink, turquoise.
Wiring colors shall comply with IEC 60445 or with the local standards.
Cable trays and cable ducts shall be constructed of hot-dip galvanized steel in compliance with IEC 61537 requirements.
Cable Schedule and Cable route fill calculation shall be provided in order to avoid over filling of cable route ways.
Cable routes miscellaneous such as junction boxes, pull boxes, elbows, etc. shall be hot-dip galvanized metal type.

4.3 HVAC System
The HVAC system is a direct expansion split unit composed of indoor and outdoor unit. The unit is provided in accordance with
the heat dissipation specifications of the equipment and the dimensions of the e-House.
The HVAC unit uses an R-410A refrigerant, with this refrigerant R-410A (HFC) does not affect the ozone layer, in accordance with
the Montreal Protocol and the requirements of the 2010 EPA.
Indoor, direct-expansion, ceiling-suspended fan coil. Fan coil shall be shipped complete with cooling coil, fan, fan motor, piping
connectors, and ceiling
mounting brackets.
Unit cabinet shall be zinc-coated bonderized steel finished with a baked enamel paint. Inlet grilles shall be attractively styled, high
impact polystyrene.Matching mounting brackets shall be provided.
Indoor fans shall be 3-speed centrifugal blower type with air intake in the bottom rear of the unit and discharge in the front.
Automatic, motor-driven horizontal air sweep shall be provided standard.

Indoor coils shall be copper tube with aluminum fins and galvanized steel tube sheets. Fins shall be bonded to the tubes by
mechanical expansion . A drip pan under the coil shall have a drain connection for the hose attachment to remove condensate.
Motors shall be a permanently lubricated ball bear ing with inherent overload protection.
Unit shall have a filter track with field-supplied cleanable filters. The filter is easily accessible for periodic cleaning via the indoor
unit's hinges down/removable return air panel.
Thermostat Controls:
• Automatic restart after power failure at the same operating conditions as at failure.
• Thermostat control to enter set points and operating conditions.
• Cooling mode to provide modulating fan speed based on the difference between temperature setpoint and space
temperature.
• Fan-only operation to provide room air circulation when no cooling is required.
• Fan speed control shall be user-selectable: high, medium, low, or automatic operation during all operating modes.
• A time delay shall prevent compressor restart in less than 2 to 4 minutes.
The outdoor unit shoul be built to withstand the rigors of the weather, year in and year out.
The cabinet is made from the high quality galvanised steel, finished with tough ovencured polyester powder coating and fixed
with stainless steel fasteners.
The outdoor coil fins are epoxy coated for extra protection in corrosive environments, e.g. salt laden sea air.
The Outdoor Unit is designed to be freestanding, or wall mounted with the optional wall mounting brackets.

4.4 Fire System
4.4.1 Fire Alarm System
Fire Alarm panel shall be a microprocessor-based. It shall be provided inside the E-House with a secondary power source capable
of providing 24 hours of back-up power.
Photoelectric smoke detector and manual call point shall be provided and hardwired to the Fire alarm panel.
Strobe Light and Horn shall be provided for visual and audible notification during fire detection. The materials of the enclosure
are resistant to combustion.
Fire Extinguisher shall be Class E, Co2 Fire extinguisher shall be provided inside the e-House near Exit doors.

1 EcoFlex Enclosure
The EcoFlex Enclosure is a transportable, walk-in
metal housing specifically designed and built to
protect critical electrical equipment in a power
distribution network. The EcoFlex Enclosure can
house medium and low voltage equipment for
protection against the elements of weather and
nature.

The EcoFlex Enclosure may utilize the cold-formed or hot-rolled steel as specified in the detailed drawings to be provided by ABB -
GET. Depending on the chosen manner of steel processing, the following specifications shall be adhered to at the minimum.

5 Supplier Qualification
All potential EcoFlex Enclosure Suppliers shall comply with the ABB qualification processes prior to engaging projects with ABB. A
series of screening, on-site assessment and auditing will be conducted by ABB as part of the qualification process.
