1. PURPOSE:

The purpose of generating this Method Statement is to define the procedure step by step to implement the correct
practices for Installation of Electrical Conduits through the guidelines so as to ensure that the job execute complies
with the requirements of Contract specification & serves the intended function to satisfactory level.

2. SCOPE:

This Method Statement refers to various work procedures contained within Contractor's Project Quality Plan for
MEP Works & Contract Specification, which explains and covers the Installation of Electrical Conduits Works.

5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES:
5.1. Engineer-Incharge :
→ Ensure all required submittals are made and required plant / tools / material and manpower is
available in timely manner.
→ Ensure all execution of works are carried out according to approvals, contract specifications,
approved MEP drawings, Project Quality Plan for MEP works, Method Statements for MEP
works, and safety measures are implemented.
→ Ensure necessary coordination with Client / Consultant Representative and other Agencies work
for timely completion of job.

5.2 Site Engineer :


→ Timely provision of relevant complete information, Consultant approved documents and
instructions to site excution / installation team.
→ Proper excution of works as per approved material submittals, approved Method Statements,
Approved Construction drawings and adopt all safety measures as required.
→ The implementation of the procedures mentioned in method statement shall be carried out by
concerned Site Engineer / Site Supervisor.
→ To carryout site work activities with regards to Quality and Safety requirements,Conducting
Tool Box Talks to the site workers and coordinating with concerned Quality & Safety Engineer.
5.3 QA/QC Engineer :

→ Responsible for preparation of quality plan, obtaining necessary approval from the Customer as
applicable and assist PM in effective implementation of approved quality plans and QC
procedures.

→ Responsible for communicating with all site staff about the QA requirements with respect to the
project.Responsible for Receiving and reviewing of all reports related to quality matters.

→ Responsible for organizing and conducting Quality audits with the co-ordination of PI and
planning engineer.

→ To coordinate with Engineer-Inchage, Consultant / Customer Representative for Material


Inspection, Mock up Installation , Site Installation and Testing Approvals.

→ To maintain a comprehensive Inspection and Test records as per approved Project Quality plan.

5.4 Safety Engineer :

→ Ensure implementation of all safety measures and procedures specific to the nature and type of
execution work being carried out at site.

→ To ensure that all project personnel / site execution team is fully aware of their responsibilities
and have full understanding of the related safety rules, procedures.

→ To advise the involved personnel about the involved risk at work and necessary health,safety
and environment precautions / measures to avoid it.

→ To keep informed the site management and Consultant about the adopted safety measures as site
and ensuring their adequacy.

→ To maintain a continuous inspection/surveilence of site activities, implementation of HSE


policies, advising, training site staff / work men regarding safety issues.

09 INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

To carry out installation of Elecrtrical Conduits work , below mentioned procedure shall be followed step by step
in sequential manner.

9.A HANDLING & STORAGE

9.B INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

9.B.1 Ensure that the work area is ready and safe to start

9.B.5 The concealed conduiting of slab or any other


concrete structure should be securely fastened with QA/QC
binding wires to reinforcement rods or shuttering Engineer /

9.B.6 The jointing of PVC conduits shall be done with


suitable couplers and solvent cement. The PVC
conduits shall be bonded tightly to the back boxes / QA/QC

9.C The jointing process of PVC conduit will be followed as mentioned below :
9.C.1 Both the joining ends of conduits will be cleaned
from inside as well as from outside by using QA/QC

9.C.2 A thin layer of solvent cement is applied to the Engineer /

9.C.7 All bends of PVC conduiting will be made by


using correct size of bending spring. Ensure the QA/QC
radius of any conduit bend shall not be less than Engineer /
four times the outside diameter of the conduit to Site Engineer

9.C.15 Conduits chased into wall should be recessed


sufficiently to permit a minimum thickness of QA/QC
