Activity and Downloads, Hackers and Warez, Predators, Drugs, Texting and Sexting.
3. Illegal and illegal downloads might happen to me and my friends since I know that we love watching movies in the Internet. Also we can
also encounter and experience cyberbullying. Since it is an online world, it is easy to mock or fight with other people through words. And if
ever we’ll encounter such issues, I’ll tell myself and my friends to be strong and not be swayed with just mere nonsense words that the
bullies might throw at us. We’ll also try to educate them that what they’re doing is wrong.

MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY

QUARTER 1 – MODULE 4

APRIL JOY PALACA OCTOBER 15, 2021

12-PRUDENCE SCORE:
LESSON 1: LEGAL, ETHICAL, AND SOCIETAL ISSUES IN MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY
ASSESSMENT:

A.
1. Mark Joseph Solis send in his plagiarized work in the “Smiles for the World” photo contest conceptualized by Chilean, Ambassador
Roberto Mayorga.
2. Mayorga, the organizing committee, said that they will conduct an investigation to this kind of incident. He also warned that Solis’
conduct may forfeit his award and that he needs to meet the contest organizers right after. Mayorga’s action is just appropriate because
he immediately responded regarding this misconduct committed by the UP student, Mark Joseph Solis. Meanwhile, crime and a
serious offense violating R.A 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
3. For us, yes. The Internet is very powerful that people can steal other people’s work easily, making them dependent or lazy in creating
or thinking about their own ideas for their concepts or topic.
B.
1. For the past two years, Solis, a graduate from the University of the Philippines, managed a football program for the street children at a
makeshift field inside the Baclaran Church Compound, Pasay City in order to compensate his wrong doings regarding plagiarism
incidence he was involved in.
2. The football project helped players aged eight to twelve and seeks to improve the street children’s character and perception through
the sport.
3. This proves that the violation or misconduct done by a person alone cannot already justify himself/herself as an individual. There
could always be a room for change for each one of us to improve ourselves and our own well-being. It also shows that one can change
for the better in order to redeem his/her mistakes.

LESSON 2: DEVELOP REASONING THROUGH SHARING IDEAS AND INTERPRETATION OF FAIR USE

1. Ben must not follow his supervisor, he worked for it in three years. He should use his own copy so his name would be known and given
credit.
Yes, because Ben use the newspaper article for educational purpose. This makes his student to enjoy more of his lesson.
2. Yes. Ms. Miller can post to her personal website to share more generally because her lesson plan is all about in local and national
television. Ms. Miller have the right to post it because it is all about lesson plan and she wants to help her co-teacher.
No. Mr. Smithers should ask permission to Mary Miller because Mary Miller is the owner of the lesson plan so if Mr. Smithers don’t give
credits to Mary Miller, he has accused of copyright and plagiarism.
