Process Title FLEXIBLE TIME POLICY

Definition

Flexitime is a scheme where an organization gives its employees the opportunity of a flexible working
hour’s arrangement to those who cannot render the standard regular working time of 8:00am-
5:00pm.

Coverage

All employees can apply a flexible working time on emergency or case to case basis provided that
his/her Head of Office will approve the validity of the said request/reason.

Purpose and Scope

 The flexible time policy explains the guidelines of Flexible time request of employees who
cannot render the standard regular working time of 8:00am-5:00pm. This is to ensure
employees will be consistently and correctly compensated for the time they put into their job
duties. And it helps increases greater staff morale, employee satisfaction, and reduces
unfocussed employees. Personal matters can also be sorted without having to take time off
and more in control of their workloads, and manage a better balance between life and work.

Policies and Guidelines

Based on issued Memorandum dated November 05, 2014, Flexible Working Time of Employees was
imposed provided that eligible employees must complete the required eight (8) working hours within
the day. (see Example A)

For Analysts, Engineers, Supervisory, and Managerial Positions – standard flexi time will
automatically be considered even without approved Flexible Time Request. For less than eight (8)
regular hours rendered within a day will automatically be computed as under time.

For Rank and File Positions – approved Flexible Time Request (F-HRD-036) is strictly required. If
NO or DISAPPROVED Flexible Time Request, automatically under time and tardiness policy (Sec.
2.3.1) will be imposed.

Procedure

I. Flexible Time Request served as an official clearance that you are allowed/approved by your Head
of Office to avail a flexible working time with a justifiable reason.
Step 1: The requesting party should be the one to fill out the slip’s information needed.
Reason should be specific.

Step 2: Seek for the Head of Office approval.

Step 3: Once approved, submit the Slip to Human Resource Department – Compensation
and Benefits Section not later than the payroll period coverage of your request for payroll
checking reference.
