Empteezy Paint Application Guidance

Pre-Heat of the steel components will be a very good start to the painting process. We
would recommend a steel temperature of minimum 10°C. The coating, Marathon Prime
Finish HS, is a tolerant coating and can be applied to cold surfaces. By introducing heat, this
will improve the drying times and the quality of the finish.

We would recommend an oven temperature of no more than 35°C, with Marathon Prime
Finish HS. Even this temperature will have a huge benefit on the drying times of Marathon
Prime Finish HS. We wouldn’t recommend any higher temperature as the paint has both
High Build and Quick Drying features. There will be a risk of Solvent Entrapment it higher
temperatures are used.

Unit construction is 2mm for walls and 3mm for base. This needs to be taken into account
for heat times, using the thickest. Curing time should aim for 60 minutes at 35°C

Steel Temperature prior to spraying, Preheat to 10°C.

Paint thickness, we would recommend 75 Microns DFT, minimum As stated 75 Microns DFT
is minimum recommended. Your current specification is 100 Microns DFT please stay with
this as it will provide extra durability.
