(2) Output communication works regardless of IJ printer status of Stop, Ready, etc.,.
(3) Output communication does not work if either one of the following settings is made on
Communication environment setup screen:
1. “OFF fixed” is set to “State at power-up”.
2. “7 bits” is set to “Data length”.
3. The port other than “Standard port” is set to “Output port”.
4. “Content” or “Select” is set for “Connection” when SOP-08 is provided.

2. Transmission procedures
● Transmission to the external device will be output according to the communication condition
which appears on Communication environment setup screen.
● When the output communication inquiry is received from the external device, IJ printer will output
the contents which corresponds to the header type.

● The style of print message of the Individual setup of Fixed layout or the Overall setup of Fixed
layout will be output.
● All of Print line setups of Number of lines, Line spacing, Font structures in column will be output.

In model RX2/UX, the inquiries of ESC format which are supported by PXR can be also used.
However, please note some changes which are described below are made in RX2/UX.

(21) User pattern (Fixed-size)
● For the output of the fixed-size user pattern, the character size and the page number have to be
specified. When “1” is specified for the page number, the user pattern(s) of the 1st page of the
registration keyboard will be output.
● Registration numbers of the keyboard are set respectively to:
the 1st page:0 ~ 44; the 2nd page:45 ~ 89; the 3rd page:90 ~ 127;
the 4 page:128 ~ 172; the 5th page:173 ~ 199.

(22) Standard Character pattern
● For the output of the standard character pattern, the character size and the page number have to be
specified. When “1” is specified for the page number, the standard character pattern(s) of the 1st page
of editing keyboard screen for PXR standard character pattern will be output.
● When the 1st page is specified, 46 characters including space will be output. When the 2nd page is
specified, 44 characters will be output.
● Data of the standard character patterns will be output in the same configuration as those of the user
registration character transmission. Therefore, if 03H is output, it may NOT be ETX code but the
pattern data.
