REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2008-197
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 1 OF
REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2007-195, "AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING ROUTE OF OPERATIONS FOR PUBLIC UTIUTY
JEEPNEYS COMING FROM THE MUNIClPAllTJES OF OTON. '

WHEREAS, one ( l) month after the implementation of Regulation Ordinance No.

2007-195, it was observed that the route of operations of Sta. Barbara public utility
vehicles., can be further improved so as to dedog the CPU area and likewise provide
consistent service to the areas traversed by the Diversion Road particularly Dungon A
and Dungon B;

WHEREAS, the minor changes proposed herein cannot affect the operations of
City Loop public utility jeepneys.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City

of Iloilo~ that:

Section l. - The route of operations of Sta. Barbara is hereby amended and shall
read, as follows:

"STA. BARBARA:

Upon entering the Central Boundary Area, fifty (50%) percent with
the PUJ passes, preferably those with Certificate of Public Conveyance
with West Diversion Road as the via route, shall pass West Diversion
Road traverse Benigno Aquino Avenue, enter the SM City Passenger
Lounge to load and unload passengers. Jn returning back, shall make a
"U-turn" at a designated area fronting SM City, traverse Benigno Aquino
Avenue, back to point of origin.

For the remaining fifty (50%) percent of holders of PUJ passes,

they shall pass Lopez Jaena Street towards Central fhilipp ine University,
turn right to Fcy·ardo Street, turn left to Libertad Street, proceed to E.
Lopez Street, turn le.fi to Rizal Street (fronting Archbishops' Palace), turn
right to Commission Civil Street, turn right to Jalandoni Extension, cross
E. Lopez Street toward Jalandoni Street, turn right to Benigno Aquino
Avenue towards West Diversion back to the Municipality of Sta. Barbara.

The final arbiter for an even distribution as to the number of Sta.

Barbara PUJ's shall be the Chief, Traffic Management and Engineering
Unit (TMEU) .

Section 2. - All Sta. Barbara public utility jeepneys with PUJ passes mentioned in
th[s ordinance, shall have permanent panel route signs (eight via CPU or via Diversion)
as provided for under Regulation Ordinance No. 2000-159.

Section 3. -All other sections/provisions of Regulation Ordinance No. 2007-195

shall remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

Section 4. - This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
