Dont miss this amazing spectacle! 1,500 costumed carnival performers share their own imaginative interpretation of island history, folklore, culture and industry. From Dinosaurs to modern day Festival, the story unfolds in chronological order as follows The Prelude: Island Bloco featuring RAW Samba, FaT Samba, Unidos, Haylands and Greenmount Primary Schools Samba. 1 Dinosaur Island Mas Exodus stilt walkers 2 Beaker Island Swanmore Middle School and Haylands Primary. 3 Roman Island Oakfield Primary and LastMinit. View the Official Opening Ceremony on Live Screens at Eastern Esplanade Gardens and at Simeon Street Rec from 7.30pm. (the site @ Quay Road is not open to the public) 7.30pm: Official Business including Welcome, Water Ceremony, The Oath, Raising the Games Flag, Fanfare, and Official Opening by Lord Coe, Olympic Gold Medallist and Chairman of the London Olympic Games Organising Committee. 8pm: Celebratory Performance An Island in its True Colours featuring: PJs Theatre School, The Hot Green Bus Dance Co, Ryde Extreme Performers, Island Acrobalance, Sandown High School, Mas Fusion Carnival Dancers with Cats Kittens and Shademakers Carnival Club featuring Dance Vibez.

Live carnival entertainment in Simeon St Rec from 3pm to 9.30pm featuring MC COCO P and DJ Mike Forbes (Hot 96 FM) with special guests live on stage Pre-parade: Tafastar, Derek Sandy Post-parade: Trini Boy Joocie and International Soca Star SCRAPPY! (Stage closes 5pm to 6.30pm whilst the parade is in town)
