listed below. The lesson is to solidify student understanding of comparing and ordering
fractions with mixed numerators and denominators.

model ordering of fractions using slide 6.)

Activity

-As a total class-(Teacher directed) the lesson will begin by


grouping students in groups 3-4 facing the front of class. One
student will be the leader in each group

- Teacher directed quick review. Using fractions strips 3-4 min


review of fractions with equivalent with denominator of eight.
Leader helping teacher with student understanding. Fraction
strips from previous learning

-Using Slide 6, I will model ordering fractions in word forms.


Then, I will clear all answers. Students will be called up to
smart board in pairs to fill in one answer, doing so until all
answers are complete. Utilizing pairs for students to can use
“turn and talk” both at board and in seats.

-Bring class together to answer questions and correct as a


class. Teacher looking for any Mini reteach with fraction strips
that students have at desk.

-Students will then have individual practice using Smart


Pedagogy

Exchange ordering Fractions slide 7 projected on to


smartboard, writing their answers on an identical worksheet
teacher provided. Teacher walking around for any help.
Students complete, raise hand for teacher to check work.
(Doing this for any reteach need for students).

-Bring everyone together to review knowledge key terms of


ordering, numerator, and denominator. For additional practice
will use slide 8, 9, and 10 class review call on students to the
white board for answers for prize/treasure box incentive.
