● Lies in submandibular gland
● Receive
○ Facial n. ➡ chorda tympani
● To:
○ Submandibular and sublingual salivary glands via lingual n.
● Sympathetic fibres from external carotid plexus pass through
this ganglion

Pterygopalatine ganglion
● Found in pterygopalatine fossa
● Receive
○ Facial n. ➡ greater petrosal n.
● To: maxillary n
● Innervate
○ Lacrimal glands, nasal mucosa
