PREPARATION FOR THE K TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM

1. In the exigency of the public service relative to DepEd Order No.35 s.2016 with
division Memorandum No. 135 .s. 2016 titled, THE LEARNING ACTION CELL AS A K
TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM SCHOOL-BASED CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHING AND LEARNING,
there will be an orientation on August 19, 2021, at 8:00 in the morning. Participants
of this orientation are the ten (10) teachers and school principal of Felisa Villoria
Bond Memorial School.

2. This one-day orientation aims to orient the teachers on the details of the DepEd
Order no. 42 s. 2016 otherwise known as “Policy Guidelines on Daily Lesson for K to
12 Basic Education Program.

3. Strict adherence of this memorandum is enjoined.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON CONDUCT AN ORIENTATION ON THE POLICY GUIDELINES ON

DAILY LESSON PREPARATION FOR THE K TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION
PROGRAM.

This DepEd Order No. 42, Policy Guidelines on Daily Lesson Preparation
for the K–12 Basic Education Curriculum, is updated each year will be held to
remind all teachers of their yearly duties. Daily lesson preparation is a part of
teachers’ core function as a facilitator of learning inside the classroom. The delivery
of high-quality teaching and learning in schools depends heavily on well-planned
and prepared sessions.
Mrs. Cecelia P. Torres conducted a prayer to start the orientation at
exactly 8:00 am. Gemma C. Larobes, the school's Master Teacher, presented the
contents of the aforementioned DepEd Order using a Microsoft PowerPoint
presentation. The goal of lesson planning, according to our school's principal, is to
ensure that students understand a lesson before it is given. He also discussed the
Elements of Effective Teaching. According to him Identifying clear lessons and clear
objectives while carefully linking activities to them which is essential for
effectiveness and creating quality assignments, which is positively associated with
quality instruction and quality student work. He clarified the distinction between the
Daily Lesson Plan and Daily Lesson Log. Teachers who have worked for at least a
year in the classroom are permitted to collaborate on learning areas with DepEd-
provided LMs and TGs. Experienced teachers can train newer teachers who are
using the Daily Lesson Log. Newly hired teachers without professional teaching
experience shall be required to prepare a daily DLP for a year and for teacher
applicants as well as the teachers in the service including Master Teachers who will
conduct demonstration teaching shall be required to prepare DLP. The parts of the
lesson plan make up his final point of discussion.
The school head and all the personnel took part in an open forum where
they were free to share their knowledge of the agendas that had been discussed
and ask questions.
The principal of the school answered each of the teacher’s questions in-depth.
The orientation was then over, and it was hoped that the person who
had been the subject of it had a clear knowledge of the things that had been
discussed and decided.
