Lesson Plan in Mathematics
Lesson Plan in Mathematics
I.
A. Content Standard: Demonstrates understanding of key concepts of inequalities in a
triangle, and parallel and perpendicular lines.
B. Performance Standard: Communicate mathematical thinking with coherence and clarity
in formulating, investigating, analyzing, and solving real-life problems involving triangle
inequalities, and parallelism and perpendicularity of lines using appropriate and
accurate representations.
C. Most Essential Learning competencies:
1. Proves properties of parallel lines cut by a transversal.
2. Determines the conditions under which lines and segments are parallel or
perpendicular
D. Objectives:
1. Measures angles formed from parallel lines cut by a transversal using protractor
2. Show the properties of angles formed from parallel lines cut by a transversal.
3. Proves the properties of angles when parallel lines in perpendicular with its
transversal.
II.
A. Topic: Parallelism and Perpendicularity
B. Materials Needed: Posters, strips of papers, protractor, worksheet
C. References: Mathematics Quarter 4 Module 2
III.
A. Preparation (Motivation)
1. The students will give example of parallel lines found inside the classroom
Ex. Opposite sides of chalk board
2.
m∠1=120°
m∠2=60°
m∠3=60°
m∠4=120°
m∠5=120°
m∠6= 60°
m∠7= 60°
m∠8= 120°
B. Presentation of the topic with illustrative examples
Parallelism
1. Two lines are parallel if and only if they are coplanar and they do not intersect.
(m||n) t as transversal
2. Try to examine the given example and identify the different types of angles shown
in the illustration.
3. If the transversal is perpendicular to the parallel lines then all the angles form
measures 90°
C. Application
IV. Evaluation
V. Assignment
Answer Post Test which found on Quarter 4 module 3 pages Pages 10-12 in your module.
Write your answer on the answer sheet which you use in Activity 1.

Protractor
A protractor is a simple measuring instrument that is used to measure angles.

In this module, students are assumed that they already know in measuring angles using
protractor
