Once there was a prophet named Musa (alaihi salam).
Allah sent Musa to an evil king, Pharaoh, to guide him to His Creator.
However, arrogant Pharaoh refused to listen to Musa’s
advice. Instead, he became angry and challenged Musa
to a competition with his best magicians.
Everyone from all over Egypt came to see the exciting event;
a competition between the best magicians and a single man, Musa.
The magicians began first. They threw objects to the ground which
magically wriggled into snakes. The crowd was amazed!
Then, it was Musa’s turn. He threw his staff to the ground and it
transformed into a huge snake which swallowed all the other snakes.

Musa then picked the huge snake and it returned back into a
staff in his hand.
Seeing the amazing miracle, the magicians prostrated to
Allah saying, “We believe in the Lord of Musa and Harun.”
Pharaoh became angry and threatened to cut their
hands and legs, and kill them.

But that did not stop the magicians from believing in Allah.
Since that day, Allah sent more signs but Pharaoh refused
to submit to Allah.

He tortured those who followed Musa in worshiping Allah alone.

Finally, Allah allowed Musa and the believers to leave Egypt to
escape from Pharaoh. They headed out to the Red Sea.
Pharaoh found out about the escape and decided
to chase them with his huge army.
Musa’s people were worried. It seemed like there was no where else to
run with the sea in front and a huge army of enemies behind.
However, Musa remained firm. He knew Allah would protect the believers.
Allah commanded Musa to hit the sea with his staff.
Behold, right before them, the sea parted to make a path for them to
walk, with huge mountains of water on each side.
Pharaoh saw the miracle but arrogantly said, “Look the sea
has opened at my command.." And so Pharaoh and his army
followed them from behind.
Musa and the believers reached the other side of
the sea safely, while Pharaoh and his army were
still walking in the middle of the sea.
That was when Allah commanded for the sea to return to its
normal state, closing the pathway…

...and that was the end of Pharaoh and his army.
