Questionnaire on determining the students’ interest upon using Graphic-based Supplementary


Reading Material in Teaching Literature

This design research study will determine the students’ interest in English and American
Literature in terms of the genre and time preference of the BSED English majors. The
respondents will be the purposively chosen 3rd year BSED English majors of West Visayas State
University- Lambunao Campus for the S.Y 2021-2022.

Specifically, this instrument aimed at determining the interest of 3 rd year BSEd English
majors’ students using the graphic-based supplementary reading material in teaching literature.

Instruction: Read and answer the following questions:

1. In what way the graphic-based supplementary reading helped you in understanding and
appreciating the given literary piece?

It aided my understanding of "Romeo and Juliet" by displaying the characters' dialogue in


the graphics, making it easier to understand the characters' conversations in each scene.
Also, it helped me appreciate the given literary piece by displaying the flow of the play
through graphics and how the author manages to think of the story's plot.

2. Has it successfully enhanced your interest in reading literature? Why?

Yes, it increased my interest in reading literature because, even though the play is lengthy,
it is still enjoyable to read due to the amazing graphics that encouraged me to keep
reading.

3. Would you recommend to your fellow students/teachers the use of the graphic-based
supplementary reading material in teaching literature?

Yes, because it will benefit us as future educators who want to make our teaching methods
exciting for our students.
