It is used for plans,
projects and for predictions
with evidence.
 Affirmative form
Examples:

●I am going to study math tomorrow.

● Fabiola is going to play football next

weekend.

● Boris and Patty are going to visit

their parents tomorrow.

S + verb to be+ going to + V + complement.

 Negative form
To make negative sentences we have to put the
verb be in negative. Examples:

● I’m not going to cook tonight.

● Marlene isn’t going to work this

weekend.

● My friends aren’t going to play

volleyball next Sunday.

S + verb to be + not + going to + V + complement.

 Interrogative form Examples:
To make questions put the verb be before the
subject.

Will
It is used for predictions,
promises or spontaneous
decisions,request.
Affirmative form
Examples:

● Maybe I will study at university next

●I think it will rain tonight.

● Perhaps Mary will visit me next weekend

● Probably we will have some difficult

questions in the exam.

Note. - When we use the future with will,

usually we use expressions like maybe,
perhaps, I think or probably.
 Negative form
Examples:

●I think Pedro won’t go to the party

next Saturday.

● Probably they won’t win the soccer game

next week.

● Perhaps I won’t have a new smart phone

next month.

Will not = Won’t

 Interrogative form
To make questions put the auxiliary will before the
subject. Examples:

● Will she read the newspaper ?

Yes, she will.

● Will you call me tonight?

No, I won’t.

● Will we come to school by bus?

Yes, we will.
