Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas Spring Scholarship


October 15 Deadline Approaching

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—The deadline to apply for the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest
Arkansas spring scholarship is October 15.

Scholarships for the fall and spring offer $2,000 for full-time students, $1,500 for ¾ time
students, and $1,000 for part-time students. Eligibility requirements include being a single
parent, a resident of Benton, Carroll, Madison, or Washington county, being a legal United
States resident or having DACA status, having a high school diploma or GED, having a low to
moderate income (more information can be found on the SPSFNWA website), being enrolled or
planning to enrole in a program of study at an approved instituion, completed or in the process
of completing the FAFSA, and maintaing a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Students attending an
eligible program at one of the areas univesrtities, community colleges, or trade schools seeking
a diploma program, associates degree, bachelor’s degree, graduate degree, or licsensure in
cosmteology are eligible for a SPSFNWA scholarship. A full list requriemtns, qualifying schools,

About the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas: The state of Arkansas has
the third-highest child poverty rate in the nation and consistenly ranks near the bottom of states
in per capita residents who have a bachelors’s degree. Poverity is a reality for families in the
Northwest Arknasas area and the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas has
been striving to mitigate this issue since 1984. Following graduation, SPSFNWA recipiants earn
an annual average of $30,000+.
