INTRODUCTION OF BRAZIL
Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world, surpassed in size only by Russia, Canada, China
and the United States, Brazil is the fifth most populous country in the world and represents a
third of the population of Latin America. Most of the inhabitants of Brazil are concentrated along
the east coast, although its capital is Brasilia. Rio de Janeiro, in the eyes of many around the
world, remains the pre-eminent icon of Brazil.

MOST REPRESENTATIVE FESTIVAL IN BRAZIL

The Rio Carnival lasts four days in which the Samba schools come together to compete, and
where the city receives visitors from all over the world, dressing in a single color, joy! The city
itself participates in the celebration, with this we mean that at the time of Carnival the festivities
involve people of all ages and social classes, which makes it an event that promotes inclusion.

BRAZIL WEATHER

Brazil weather is characterized to be mostly warm, since around the 90% of the country is in a tropical
zone, although varies between the equatorial in the mostly part of the northeast and north to the mild
zones in the south of the capricornio tropic, wish cross the country at latitude of the Sao Paulo city.

REPRESENTATIVE ANIMAL OF BRAZIL

The red-bellied thrush is very easy to recognize by its red belly (its scientific name literally means "red-
bellied thrush") and the dark stripes on its whitish neck. Thrushes have relatively long and thin legs.
Sabiá laranjeira is another name used in Brazil and Uruguay border area.

BLUE MACAW

The blue or hyacinth macaw is a species of psittaciform bird of the parrot family. It lives in the jungles of
much of Brazil, Bolivia and northern Paraguay. It is the largest macaw species. In a state of vulnerability,
these birds are coveted for their high price in the market.
Its average lifespan is 50 years in the wild, it has a length of 100 cm (adult) and is a typical inhabitant of
rain forests and swampy lands, from eastern Panama and the island of Trinidad to Paraguay and
southern Brazil.

TECHNOLOGY IN BRAZIL

In recent decades, Brazilian science and technology have obtained a significant position on the
international scene. The agency in charge of science and technology in Brazil is the Ministry of Science
and Technology.
This ministry also has direct supervision over the National Institute for Space Research, the National
Institute for Amazon Research, and the National Institute of Technology. The ministry is also responsible
for the Secretariat for Informatics Policy and Autonomy.
Brazil has one of the cleanest energy matrixes in the world: in 2020, renewable energy sources will
produce 85% of the country's electricity, and hydropower accounted for two thirds of this percentage.
Some scientific successes were achieved in the last five years. For example, the “Sirius” program, which
is one of the most sophisticated in the world on synchrotron radiation sources. Brazil is a pioneer in Latin
America in the development of this technology. The National Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS)
located in the city of Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo
