LESSON 4: THE EARLY EDUCATION OF JOSE

RIZAL

Jose Rizal is the best student in school; in academic studies he


beat all Biñan boys.

The father of Rizal sent him to Ateneo municipal (Escuela


Pia) for a six-year program Bachiller En Artes.
He took the entrance exam, four years after the execution of
Gomburza.

In the class Rizal was given the title “emperor” means most
outstanding student in the class.

Rizal studies in Ateneo for 5 years in those years he


consistently showed excellence in his academic performance

He passed the oral examination and graduated with a degree


Bachiller En Artes with highest honors
Rizal’s academic performance in UST was not as impressive
as that in Ateneo. But still he belongs to one of the 7 students
who remained in the course at UST out of 24 original batch of
students.

would go to Europe to complete his medical studies there and

from Spanish Tyranny
