About the Author

Benjamin Loomis is the Director of Bands at Wamogo


Regional Middle School and High School in Litchfield,
Connecticut. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in
Music Education from Central Connecticut State University,
where he graduated from the Honor’s Program Cum Laude.

The Wamogo Middle School and High School Bands just


recently began attending festivals and has received consistent
Superior ratings. The Wamogo High School Band marches
yearly at the Big Eastern States Exhibition. The Wamogo Jazz
Band performs yearly at Infinity Hall to sold out crowds. The
Wamogo High School Band sends students every year to the
Berkshire League Music Festival, Northern Regional Festival,
All- State Music Festival and New England Music Festival.
This year Wamogo had a pleasure of sending a trombone
student to the All-National Conference, sitting 1st Trombone.
In addition to teaching ensembles at Wamogo, Benjamin’s
course load also includes beginner guitar, music technology,
video production, AP Music Theory, basic theory and lessons.

Benjamin is a percussionist and teaches private lessons through


at his house. His students are the top scorers at regional and
state auditions and festivals. In addition, Benjamin is the
Northern Regional High School Band Co-chair and is a
member/conductor of the Berkshire League Music Festival.
He is also a judge for the High School Regional and All-State
festivals.

When not making music, Benjamin can be seen relaxing at


home with his wife Sarah who are expecting a little baby boy.
