ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 Preparation of different types of work permits for the mechanical activities, attend the Permit to
Work training classes, identify and control the hazards, site visit with client, and preparation for
site audit.
 Technological pipes related to above described plants (stainless & carbon steel and pipes from
DN50 up to DN800 mm; PN6 – PN400 bar, 2” -36”)
 Repair of pressure tanks for liquefied petroleum gas storage and fittings, safety valves, associated
pipelines, distillation columns, heat exchangers & gas collectors, cool-boxes.
 Supervising team of local personnel and being involved in the whole activities of
Shutdown/Turnaround with specific focus on statics equipments these are columns, heat
exchangers, fin fan coolers, etc.
 Manufacturing, installation, maintenance and repair of liquid storage tanks, pressure tanks for
liquefied gas storage (ammoniac, chlorine)
 Authorize withdrawal of equipment/materials from the warehouse.
 Analyze additional work and modifications to determine the cause and propose the solution to be
implemented preliminary alignment without pipe connection motor solo run.
 Final pump alignment with pipe connection.
 Air blowing seal pots for pumps disassembled pipe connecting tank and pump seals mounted air
hose.
 Air-blowing to realize that air is fresh veins (using a fabric filter) in the presence of the inspector.
 Mounted ducts with new gaskets and filters (Mash).
 Completed the system with sealing liquid.
 Shall run oil (pumps and compressors that pump sealing) site and change the controls if they are
clean.
 Supervision of Piping Pre – Fabrication, Erection, Hydro – Test, Pipe Stringing, Welding, Lowering,
Hot – Tapping.
 Operates in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety.
 Responsible for leading a team of nearly 40 mechanical technicians for maintenance and repairs
of dynamic machines/repairs of statics equipment, mechanic work-shop and erection of
technological.
 Review the pre-commissioning and commissioning procedure for all rotary and reciprocating
equipments
 To coordinate for the installation of Mechanical static and rotary equipment's like vessels, pumps,
blower, compressors, turbines, organizing vendor arrival to the site at the time of commissioning,
coordination for the commissioning activities with vendors etc.

JOB PROFILE
 Review the previous history of plant equipment and piping, materials, last inspection
observation, operating temperature, pressure, services change, remaining life. Average
corrosion rate, shutdown plan, any change in operation pressure and temperature etc.
 In-service / shutdown inspection of most of the static equipment in a plant, pressure vessels,
Heat Exchanger & Heaters ,Fin fan Cooler etc.
 Conduct internal, external planned & unplanned inspections on all static equipment/facilities
and to compile written reports on its findings and recommendations puts in repair
recommendations to user departments.
 Recording of observations and recommendations for future actions.
 Ensure equipment integrity of static equipment such as vessels, heat exchangers, fin-fan coolers
etc.
 Supervise all the activities regarding inspection and monitoring of Static Equipment and piping.
 Establish, maintain and update Inspection plans and inspection schedules.
 Calculating corrosion rate, remaining life of equipment using relevant codes and inspection data
for recommending necessary timely replacement of equipment to avoid catastrophes.
 Co-ordinate with NDT group after determining the appropriate NDT method applicable to assess
the equipment condition.
 Issue inspection work sheets with repair procedures and testing requirement confirming to
approve welding procedures which are made in line with the Engineering Standards &
International Standards.
 Advises and recommends required repairs or replacements to defective equipment and carries
out further inspections after repair work to ensure conformity to approved standards and codes.
 Provides a workshop inspection service for overhaul of pressure safety valves.
 Witnessing Relief valve setting, testing and maintaining records.
 Witnessing of hydro and pneumatic tests of safety valves using Ventil test equipment.
 Witnessing of pressure relief valves, safety valves, breather valves etc.

 Inspection of Valves for its corrosion and erosion and other accessories during shutdown.
 Review and evaluation of all NDT / Ultrasonic Thickness reports and recommend for repair,
replacement or de-rating of equipment and piping.
 Supervising Welding Inspectors and NDT Operators activities.
 Inspection of incoming materials and Review of Material Test Certificates.
 Holiday inspection of coating surfaces.
 Preparation of inspection reports/certificates with all findings, abnormalities, and
recommendations.
 Ensure full compliance with company safety regulations and HSE management systems.
