Theme : Architectural Designing of an international level school at Gurgaon

Objective : To showcase how innovative steel can be as a material in architecture, it’s

basically a test on how well we are able to exploit the advantages of steel.

Deliverables:

1. A report of maximum 8 pages , A4 size sheet (inspiration, case, idea exploration,

material palette, concept)
2. Drawings should be proper scale (1:500, 1:200, 1:100) in maximum of 6 A1
● Perspective view of the structure
● Conceptual Drawings
● Presentation Drawings
● Elevations of major structures
● Sections of major Structure
● Details of steel used area
3. A physical model and a software walkthrough and a PPT (max. 10 slides) ( this
needs to be confirmed as it for the final round )

Project information:

● Rectangular plot of 73 acres ( 295421m^2 ) with sides 385m and 766m. The
shorter side is along a major highway.
● North - Highway, East - a water body , West and South have barren land
● Planning needs to take care of reduction in noise levels/ disturbance.
● Floor to ceiling height should be minimum 3.5m OR as per site requirement and
specifications of CPWD/MES.
● Functional Solar energy equipment used both as a demonstration as well as to
save electricity.
● Future expansion needs to be thought of before placing pump house, sump,
septic tank, transformer, etc
● Garbage bins, plantation scheme, parks and other horticulture works needs to be
planned
● Proper Drainage arrangement in the open spaces inside /outside of the building
shall also be made
● Zig-zag sitting arrangement in classroom and lab.
● cycle / scooter stand with simple truss and A. C. sheet roofing
● Canteen (kiosk type), potable drinking water on each floor, oxygen booths,
sanitisation kiosks, mini health center with general and ICU beds.

Design Area requirement :

Maximum Ground coverage is 30%

Maximum FAR is 1.0
Maximum height from finished ground level is 10m
Parking standard is 2.0 ECS/ 100 sq. m of floor area

Fire Safety/ Lightning Protection norms are imperative. Encasement with concrete may
not be adopted.
