2. Locate all of the instant centers in the mechanism shown in Figure 2. If link 2 is turning
CW at the rate of 60 rad/s, determine the angular velocity of link 4 and the linear velocity
of points C using instant centers. The dimensions are in inches.

3. Locate all of the instant centers in the mechanism shown in Figure 3. If the cam (link 2) is
turning CW at the rate of 900 rpm, determine the linear velocity of the follower using
instant centers. The dimensions are in inches.

4. The circular cam shown is driven at an angular velocity 2 = 15 rad/s (CW). There is
rolling contact between the cam and roller, link 3. Using the instant center method, find
the angular velocity of link 4.

5. Determine the mechanical advantage of a four bar linkage shown in Figure 5 when θ =
60。. The mechanical advantage is defined as the ratio of the output torque T4 to the input
torque T2. The dimensions are OAA = 22 mm, OBB =37 mm, AB = 40 mm, and OAOB =
40 mm.

6. Determine the centrodes of a slider-crank mechanism, whose crank length, OAA, is equal
to the connecting rod length, AB. as shown in Figure 6.
