Basics of 3D Drawings and Applications

AIM:
To draw the flowsheet symbols.
Draw the flowsheet symbols for various unit operations and unit processes involved in
process industry.

THEORY:

In process design conceptual design is the first step. It needs the design of block flow
diagrams (BFD) and process flow diagrams (PFD). To represent the unit operations and the
unit processes the process engineer should have the knowledge on basic symbols of 3D
drawings/flow sheet symbols used in industry.

Procedure
Collect the flow sheet symbols for the unit operations and draw them using the
SOLIDWORKS software
