Capt. Rommel Sandoval,PA (Deceased-KIA)

- This is Capt. Sandoval, officer of Philippine Army and also a recipient of
Medal of Valor, the highest award in serving our Mother Land. His contribution was
defending our country against the communist terrorist group Maute-ISIS. He offered
his life in exchange for the better future to maintain peace and safeness of our
country. We can tell by his actions that he possesses various qualities of a good
leader some of those are commitment and passion, honesty and integrity, resilience,
vision and purpose, and others as well. He doesn’t only prove his loyalty to our
country but he also set as an example for everyone especially to his subordinates
and to soldier aspirants. For me he is a good leader for he is not afraid to do what is
needed for them to fulfill their duties and missions, He has what it takes to fight for
what is right and he also takes accountability for the sake of his men. This is an
example of a good leader and the contribution of Army Captain Rommel Sandoval
will never be forgotten for it is already written in the history of taking back Marawi
City.

Recitation:

1. Democratic or Participative Style because I believe that in order for us to become

good and effective leaders, we should also listen to our subordinates. We must be
willing to be educated while we educate others also. A good leader must always
prioritize its subordinates rather than himself/herself and always put the safety of
everyone more than anything. The main goal of being a leader is to mold others to be
the leaders of themselves and leaders for tomorrow. And I prefer this style to openly
learn from others as they also learn in me. I want to become a leader whom they can
see as example to lead them to better path. I want them to engage more on things
that will help them improve and become open to any opportunities and possibilities
life may bring them.

2. Yes, for me we can combine different leadership style because other styles have
good benefit in becoming an effective leaders in the society. We can derive methods
from one another to perform well in our duties. It is possible as long as what we do is
for the common good and we also need to weight the consequences and factors
affecting the situation to calculate the risk and know what specific method or
leadership style we should use in order for us to achieve the general goal for our
community to provide the best service that they can have and rely on.
