PLASTIC BAN – ACTION PLAN

QUARANTINE OF BANNED PRODUCTS.
1. As per the notification issued by the FSSAI and the Government authorities, we will not be
allowed to use 3CP, 5CP and 8CP plastic containers used in thalis, which are served in Marwar’s.
2. We identified that the clean wrap roll, black garbage bags, 3CP, 5CP and 8CP plastic packages
(collectively known as “banned plastic items”) are available across the outlets and the CKs.
While we discuss sending it back to vendors, we will need to create a separate storage space for
the banned plastic items in the outlets and CK and name the section “Quarantine”.

3. The banned plastics will be picked up from the outlets over the week beginning July 4, 2022.
4. As of today July 2, 2022, we will need all the outlets to place the stocks in a separate area within
the outlet and label the products as “Quarantine”. Cletus and George – Kindly ensure this ASAP.
5. Once done, please send photos of quarantined items in the outlets to to Nehal, Cletus and
George.
6. Outlet Managers who ensure this by 6 PM today shall be appreciated by Kiran Prasad for their
swift action and ownership.

Penalty: However, on failure of not doing so, the outlet manager and the cluster manager will
be responsible for any penalties charged by the BBMP for violation of the above mentioned
norms, with minimum penalty of INR 25,000

NEW FRAMEWORK TO ADDRESS REMOVAL OF CLEAN WRAP ROLL

1) Discontinue usage of clean wrap roll/stretch film/cling film for covering all containers
2) Label the containers as veg and non veg (as shown below).
3) Transfer contents from packets to microwave bowl (left) and remaining portion can be
transferred to containers with lids (as shown below)
4) Once done, please send photos of quarantined items in the outlets to to Nehal, Cletus and
George.

NEW FRAMEWORK TO ADDRESS REMOVAL OF GARBAGE BAG BLACK

1) Use garbage bag green color for both garbages (wet and dry). Mark these dustbins are wet
waste and dry waste

Note – Garbage bags green are available in all outlets (indents are being fulfilled since last week)

STEPS TAKEN EARLIER TO ADDRESS BBMP/POLICE INSPECTIONS

1) Test certificate, Migration certificate, Single Use Plastic certificate, Food grade certificates are
printed out in A3 size laminates and sent to all outlets.
2) This gives confirmation that plastic packaging items we use are SAFE and FOOD GRADE. Also
they are NOT PART OF THE PLASTIC BAN EFFECTIVE FROM JULY 1ST.
