Configuration Steps
Step 1: Connect Your PC / Mobile to the router via LAN Cable / WI-FI with existing WI-FI
credentials
Step 2: Open any web browser and type the IP 192.168.1.1 in address bar to access the router
Step 3: Enter user name as ‘admin’ and 12-digit mac address of the router as password
(Example: 5C3A3DA33FB9) Refer next slide to identify the MAC address if your router

Step 4: Click on Network -> WLAN Radio 2.4G -> SSID Settings
Step 5: Click on the drop down & select SSID3 To Change Password Go To

Enter Desired WI-FI Name Example:

Step 6: In the SSID Name: Please enter your Preferred WI-FI name and click on “Submit”
 Changes to be Made After WI-FI Name Configuration
For PC: Click on Network icon (right bottom corner next to system Time) & select “NEW WI-FI
Name” and then connect with Existing WI-FI password.

For Mobile: Go to ‘Settings’ & turn on Wi-Fi , it will display the WI-FI name list . Please select
“NEW WI-FI Name” and then connect with Existing WI-FI password.
Step 7: Click on Security
Step 8: Click on Drop box & select SSID3
Step 9: Click on Authentication Type: WPA/WPA2-PSK
Step 10: Enter your Preferred WI-FI password in the WPA Passphrase
Step 11: Click on Submit
 Changes to be Made After WI-FI Password Configuration
Step 12: If the Wi-Fi password is changed, we need to update the password in all the devices to
get connected to the Internet.

Step 13:
FOR PC: Click on Network icon(right bottom corner next to system Time), Right click on new WI-
FI name click on “Forget this network”. Again click on new WI-FI name, enter the new Wi-Fi
password and Connect.
FOR Mobile/Tablet: Go to ‘Settings’ in Mobile, turn on Wi-Fi and long press on your new WI-FI
name and press “Forget network”. Again press the new WI-FI name. You will be prompted to
enter the new Wi-Fi password and Connect.

 What is Band Steering?

➢ Band Steering is one of the most “Advanced Features” of Wireless Technology, which
automatically selects and steers any device connecting to a Wi-Fi network, to the best
frequency band available and supported by the device, thereby optimizing the browsing
experience.

➢ Without the “Band Steering” option, we had to configure two separate Network names with
different credentials for 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. It was then up to you, to manually select the
suitable Wireless Band between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, depending on the signal strength and
the Wireless standard of your devices.

➢ Now with the “Band Steering” option, there will be only a single Wi-Fi Network name which
will be visible to you. However, at the backend, our Wi-Fi device will operate both on 2.4
GHz and 5 GHz and will select the best option for you. Now you will not have to worry about
which frequency band is supported by the different devices that you use and when to
connect to which band. Your Wi-Fi Device will smartly select the best frequency band for
you and direct each device to the appropriate frequency band.
