Why we Chose this Topic? What did we Learn?

We chose this topic because we wanted to be more informed about HIV. HIV is not
really talked about often and when it is, people do not really know all the facts about
it. When people talk about it, all they say is it is not curable or just react with a face
of disgust. Becoming more aware of such a dangerous disease and how easily it
could be sexually transferred can help save lives of many in the long run. The reason
behind choosing South Africa, a third world country, is because we wanted to see if
the access to healthcare played a role in HIV prevalence. What we learned is that it
does, access to good healthcare and having a primary physician plays a major role in
controlling and preventing this viral disease.
