Lesson
Summary:
Students will be given time to play ABC mouse which is a learning app for preschool/school-age
children. It will help improve their math, science, literacy, and comprehension skills.

downloaded to each tablet and we will be using headphones.

The children will be sitting at the learning center, which is a double-sided table with a bench. I have a home
daycare so they will be situated in the living room which is colorful, inviting, but not overstimulating.

Instructional Procedures:
Steps:

Step 1- Students will be advised that it is ABC mouse time.

Step 2- Students will grab a tablet from a bin (the tablets will be charged and ready to go)

Step 3- Students will grab their individual headphones that are labeled with their names from the bin

Step 4- I will assist with plugging in headphones and accessing the app for each student if they need my help but they
will be encouraged to learn to do it themselves.

Step 5- the students will work on the specific lesson for that day for 30 minutes

Daily Time Schedule:

Day 1:
First 5 minutes: I will describe and help students with navigating the app
30 minutes: Students will practice navigating the lesson on their own and I will be there for support if anyone needs my
help.
Students will be learning their letters and will be expected to know how to identify, trace, and sort their letters. They will
exit the lesson when they’ve completed it or if time runs out.

Day 2:
First 5 minutes: I will describe and help students with navigating the app
30 minutes: Students will practice navigating the lesson on their own and I will be there for support if anyone needs my
help.
Students will be learning their numbers and will be expected to know how to identify, trace, and sort their numbers.
They will exit the lesson when they’ve completed it or when time runs out.

Day 3:
First 5 minutes: I will describe and help students with navigating the app
30 minutes: Students will practice navigating the lesson on their own and I will be there for support if anyone needs my
help.
Students will be listening to a book and will be expected to know how to listen, follow along, and exit the lesson when
they’ve completed it or if time runs out.
Day 4:
First 5 minutes: I will describe and help students with navigating the app
30 minutes: Students will practice navigating the lesson on their own and I will be there for support if anyone needs my
help.
Students will be working on phonics and will be expected to identify, sort, and memorize sounds. They will exit the
lesson when they’ve completed it or if time runs out.
Day 5:

help.
Students will be learning their colors through art and will be expected to know how to identify, sort, and use each color.
They will exit the lesson when they’ve completed it or if time runs out.

This is a link to the developmental standards for preschool students. It is very important when creating a curriculum or
activity that should be age-appropriate and relate to the standards.

Differentiated Instructional Support: ABC mouse raises the difficulty level on its own based on the student’s progress
and results. I have access to all of the students test results and lesson progress.

Students who have a hard time understanding the material or navigating the lesson will be given 5 minutes of one-on-
one time with myself during the lesson to help them grasp the information better.

Vocabulary: Profile, Exit button, Continue button, and lesson

For teachers I will need to purchase teacher access through ABC mouse and obtain enough tablets for each student.
I will use my laptop to monitor and track student progress.
For students My students will use tablets, headphones, and the ABC mouse app.
